I thought I read somewhere that Roach was made aware that the team might bring in another LB before he signed?

Competition is a good thing. Sign Lofa and tell him he doesn't have a starting job guaranteed. Tell Roach and Tatupu the position is open and may the better man win. Loser will play special teams and provide depth.

I'd be all for giving him a shot to compete with Roach and to backup Urlacher. Roach was never guarenteed anything and from what I've read had we signed Durant he would be competing with him right now. Tatupu is a multiple Pro bowler and all pro linebacker who was made one of the highest paid LB's int he league a few years back. An injury caused him to miss most of the season and they could'nt agree on a restructured deal. Sounds like just what the doctor ordered for what the bears have been doing this offseason. Oh, and we have zero LB depth. If not him, then we must bring in another LB at some point. The Bears have a warm spot for the somoans.

Tatupu and Kelvin Hayden were supposed to meet with the Redskins today, don't know if that materialized or what.

Skins just resigned McIntosh so I would guess Tatupu won't be going there.

Surprised we didn't show more interest in McIntosh given Angelo has tried to get him previously.

He could still land there. Redskins are still pretty thin at the LB position, considering they play 3-4...
