They aren't going to do anything. They need him to be enshrined in Cooperstown as the all time home run king as a NY Yankee. Plus, while not condoning this, it's a bit overblown. Should he have been smarter? Absolutely. But this is basically dirt digging at it's best.

^ Thank you....

Arod's been a model citizen since the steriods thing, the team leader since that year, and the best player on the team since he came over from Texas, give the guy a break. MLB is investigating something they have no right to be, no need to crucify Arod.

There is NO WAY in Zeus' Bunghole that Alex becomes the all time Home Run hitter. He might reach 700 but his body is breaking down a lot faster than any one could have predicted. Right now, he's a singles hitter except unlike Jeter he can't play as much.

The difference being, I think Yanks owe him at least 6 more seasons. They're only 2 seasons into a 304 Million contract. Keep in mind, Alex opted out and told the Roid story AFTER he signed...

Alex is soooo lucky MLB are nowhere near as harsh as the NFL.

Hmm...If I was a betting man I'd say "ILLEGAL GAMBLING" means um, against the law. While Alex won't go to jail, it's a federal crime (people will remember Vick was tried by Feds not local gov't) that could prevent him from playing because he has to testify in court a little longer.

in the whole scheme of things it might not be a big deal with the mlb

but if its a illegal poker ring, the feds say hi, that could be trouble

are you guys kidding me? He was playing poker with his friends, obviously for money; whenever anyone does that with anybody its illegal because its not a sanctioned event/location.

Mickey and Willie were banned from the game for being hosts at a Casino. Baseball and gambling are bad mojo.

If he did this while some other illegal activity occurred fight or assault whatever, after being warned and essentially getting a walk for the 'roids the commish might drop a big suspension on him.

There is no longer any "marketing" value in ARod breaking the home run marks, you have to wonder what happens to that 30 mil agreement in his deal.

Never wanted the guy and will like the Yankees a lot more when he is gone.

Well, hey A-rod defenders...y'know there's something called being a professional.

a guy who has literally half a billion dollars in the bank can't sign up for the World Series of Poker in Vegas or Atlantic City? No, he's gotta go for the excitement of something "underground" well there's a reason why it's underground...it's against the Law!

I mean, this isn't the movie Rounders...

This guy has caused the Yanks so many distractions, he should forfeit some of that 304M but that **** Levine dares throw Jeter under the bus? Seriously Fu-k you Levine & Cashman!

I really hope next time your friends call you up to play, you tell them you cant because its illegal, and that they should sign up and only play at a casino.

Its like all of you dont think these guys are people too....its unreal. The media is completely blowing this out of proportion and youre all eating it up.

The Arod vs Jeter comment isnt even worth justifying. Whoops.

And I should be paid a bazillion dollars. Then reality sets in. Forgeit some 304M? That's less likely than him breaking the HR title...or basically not likely if you combined Zeus' and Poseidon's bung holes together. Letting your anger get the best of you is not a good frame of mind to be in before posting or responding to anything.

And ARod defenders? Just because people say it's no big deal doesn't mean it's defending him so please relax...deep breath. He's a freakin Yankee and unless they Pete Rose him or Roger Clemens him he's not going anywhere. And if he goes somewhere? Then he goes somewhere.

Overreacting like this and getting worked up about it makes zero sense.

Yep. But honestly, chances are, nothing will come of this other than it being just another distraction. Yes, yes, yes, we would all LOVE it if ARod was Jeter off the field. But he's NOT. Getting the blood pressure worked up on it isn't going to change things. If something happens, then it happens. If it doesn't happen, then it doesn't happen. My concern with him is about what he does with a bat or glove in his hand, really could care less about playing poker for money with Matt Damon or Toby McGuire in his own free time. Should he not? Yep...see ARod not being Jeter above.
