Hopeufully the next year and a half is devoted to developing the young players. I don't want the next WC to be another embarrassment.

I wanted to see Nery Castillo & Carlos Vela for Mexico but I guess their club situations made it difficult for them to not participate for this game.

Too bad Chandler is injured. Who will be his replacement? Bornstein? lol

I can't wait to see more of Brek Shea playing for the USNMT. I like that kid and his game, what is his true position though?

I don't watch much of the USMNT but Bornstein is terrible. Never seen a left back get skinned so much.

I think Shea is a winger. Not sure though.

haha yeah. My post was intended to be sarcastic. Bornstein was terrible in the GC Final against Mexico. He will be shredded again if Klinsmann calls him up.

I used to like Bradley until I realized he doesn't do anything that well. A holding mid who can't break up plays or pass is useless.

i agree Don
a holding mid
who takes too many negative touches
cant shoot
cant create enough for us to have advantage

sometimes hes in the right place at the right time
but thats not enough

starting formation was
4-2-3-1

*Tim Howard
still thought this would have been a nice chance for the backup Hammid to get some playing time. hopefully in the next 2 friendlies

*Carlos Bocanegra
*Edgar Castillo
looked a little scared back there. lots of miss clears. dont remember him making any positive touches
*Steve Cherundolo
*Michael Orozco Fiscal

*Kyle Beckerman
big guy. won some 50/50. can see him as a physical presence
*Jermaine Jones
idk what he did. nothing really. no impact.

*Michael Bradley
looked lost in the first half. imo, id look at others to replace him
*José Torres
*Landon Donovan
looked really good after Brek and Aguedelo came in the game

*Edson Buddle
started the first half, low impact, had no support with him

Subs :
*Brek Shea
in the 59th minute, held the ball, attacked, created, had the assist on the goal
*Robbie Rogers
scored the goal on this first touch of the game, thanks to Brek
*Juan Agudelo
in the 59th minute, and ran hard and pressed, took some shots, looked real good

Fabian Johnson, German U21 player with an US parent, wants to play for Team USA. The Hoffenheim player is a useful allround winger who can play anything from wingback to right midfield to right winger. His versatility is his best asset and worst enemy - that's why he always plays, but rarely as a regular starter.

If I see Micheal Bradley and Jermaine Jones play over Brek Shae and even a Torres I'm going to lose it. I know Jones and Bradley are more Center Mids and Shae is a winger.

I think Clint actually is better as a forward for USA with a partner and Landon playing just behind those 2 screaming in. But Torres and Shae have to play and against teams as good and certainly better I'd like to only use a Beckerman playing DM. Shae is pretty good recovering back as is Landon.

I also like the Mexican/Latin influence thats building. Torres has got something, that Castillo guy from America kinda blows, but that CDefender I had never heard of against Mexico actually looked ok, pretty athletic.

I'm just sick of seeing Jermaine useless Jones, and just Meh Bradley. Lets put some athletes out there.

I'm from Dallas and an FC Dallas fan, but theres no excuse for Brek not being on the national team for over a year now. He's been the best american in the MLS this season. He instantly becomes the fastest American on the field when he steps on.

As a guy who saw Jones all his career, I have heard everything from "warrior", "idiot", "fighter" and "chav", but that is whole new level :D He has lost a bit of his game after his injuries, but still

I don't think he has a chance to ever reach the national team here. We have a lot more talented players currently, IMO.

Jermaine Jones was pretty good a few years back for Schalke. After missing the 09/10 season completely he wasn't the same anymore, though. I think 07/08 was his best year as a player, 08/09 was solid, too.
