Yanks @ Boston Lannisters: Courage and poise gents

Post#1 » by Dr. Detfink » Fri Aug 5, 2011 12:40 pm

For anyone who threw in the face of Yankee fans (looking at you Bob Ryan, Stephen A. Smith, and Mike Lupica) their record without Jeter, believe it...this team can with without the greatest 300M distraction in the history of the NY Yankees, Alex "Winner, winner chicken Dinner" Roid-Rodriguez. Can't tell you how badly I want to slap Stephen A. Smith. I'd belt that flapping clit bag so hard he'd never do radio again.

There's very good reason to be excited even if the Yanks don't take two ut of three from the Sawx. The team is FINALLY learning to manufacture runs without Alex. This is VERY important come playoff time.

Meanwhile the Sawx needed two walk offs not to swept by Cleveland. This is a team that lives and dies by it's ferocious hitting.

Btw some "pitching genius" called the Indians a non-factor. Keep in mind, their import hasn't even taken the mound and they split against Boston. Think you can roll over them in 5 games, I have a bridge in Brooklyn to sell you.

Colon vs Lester: can he establish himself as the Yanks #3 come playoff time?
CC vs Lackey: money in the bank is due even in Boston
Garcia vs Beckett: master of the 88mph

Wns don't say enough about character. Not worried ring now about wins, I want to see character of this team grow.

Yup. Colon has reached his limits in innings. Valiant effort but can't see this guy getting us there.

Right, Cleveland is 21-33 since their 30-15 start. I'm a lot more scared of facing Detroit then Cleveland and it's not even close.

Cano had a chance to blow open the game. Colon and Lester have been getting squeezed all night. For someone that relies on location, it's a recipe for disaster in Colon's case.

The real problem I have right now is why Jorge is playing. Dude is hitting .107 as RHB this year. That's right, .107 which is PATHETIC. Gardner should be in LF and Jones should be DH'ing....Jorge must have some dirt on Girardi / Cashman as it's a joke he still plays and Montero is in AAA. .230 from your DESIGNATED HITTER. He is the least valuable player in the entire MLB.

Right. Cleveland is pounding the defending AL Champs 7-3 behind that guy Jimenez you said is a waste. Meanwhile the Yanks #3 couldn't make it past 4.2 innings. You sure you're not a pitcher in Base-ketball?

Meanwhile, the Yanks had to get bailed out by BOONE LOGAN! Rescuing Colon with bases loaded. Then with two outs and man on second in the following inning, Girardi sends in Cory Wade who is ideal to get a contact hitter out.

The 7th will be crucial....and this is where the Yanks could have used Rappa's answer to all our problems Raphael Soriano. But that's not going to happen.

This is also where Cashman could have bolstered the pen...but didn't.

So who will bridge the gap to Robertson in the 8th and Mo in the 9th?

So long as we have Cash's man Sergio Mitre, we can handle our starters going 4.2 innings. ;)

Have you ever said anything useful? It's so great just watching your own foot get shoved down your throat with your whining.

Soriano with a 1-2-3. Logan was huge, I love how you discredit him for giving up a 2 out double but don't give any praise for striking out Gonzalez on 3 pitches.

I never said Jimenez was trash, and I love how you throw out 5 game sample sizes to try and disprove a whole bigger picture. wow they are bout to be 3-2 in their past 5. Still 24-35 in their last 59.

Keep making those wise crack remarks, your going to die a bitter old man with nothing in his life except grief and false knowledge.

Never discredited Boone Logan. I'm going to guess English isn't your first language. And I'm sure you didn't use flash cards cause you can't remember that I never bashed Boone (though he hasn't been that dependable in last couple couple crucial moments in July)

It's nice to see Soriano actually pitch a game. Did we trade for him at the deadline?

Dangerous as Dilinger Dave Robertson takes out Pedroia, Gonzalez, and Youkalis in the 8th. He's got a 1.45 ERA.

Robertson: $460K

Soriano: 9M

I rest my case when the 7th inning guy is paid a ridiculously more than a white dude in the 8th.

Once again, Randy Levine..the Yanks were going to be fiscally responsible in the negotiations with Jeter? Shut the HELL up.

To answer your question Pharmcat, unfortunately the #2 in the rotation is the Yanks bullpen, which is why I am still irritated at Cashman and Levine for blowing 9M per on Rappa's 7th inning boy. Now if you think any pitcher is going to take less than twice that, I have a team in Queens to sell ya. ;)

Right, cause I have ever said that I like the signing.

I simply stated the fact that as terrible as it was, he was the bust bullpen piece we could have added at the deadline.

Move on with your life guy, you obviously think you know me or anything in general, and thats a lie.
