Already being discussed in other thread, but I suppose is newsworthy enough to have its own thread. Carry on!

I loled.

All I saw was a little caress.

He could've completely destroyed that guy if he wanted to. I can understand that you get f*cked up with spectators sometimes especially when they call out on you in a meaningless streetball game.
He shouldn't have done that but I don't even get why this is in the news. Actually, it's only because it was Michael Beasley. If it was Durant it would've been completely left under the table.

I read the story on ESPN.com. I was expecting a lot worse than this. This is hardly newsworthy.

This couldn't be further from the truth.

It's news no matter who it is and its especially news if one of the NBA's top stars shoves a fan in the face.

It was stupid, you gotta be able to keep your emotions in check in the sports world. Or, in KG's case, harness those emotions to the advantage of yourself and your team. Beas has not shown the ability to do either of these.

And especially if it was the squeaky clean golden boy.

Beas is doing everything wrong in trying to get an extension, and he's on a one-way ticket to McCantsville.

Honestly, marketing companies do every thing to keep the image of their stars clean. This would've been left under the table if it was LeBron, Durant and co.
You can obviously say that these guys are just more mature but I guarantee you if that actually happened with LeBron Nike would make sure that this doesn't spread the world. Hell, they even confiscated the dunk on him. Can't allow a bad image of your figureheads.

It would be great if Beasley could take a few weeks off of being a dumbass, but I get that's wishful thinking.

The first video that slam posted (before they got the better quality one that actually showed the mushing) was funny. Beasley went over to sort of make nice and shake hands, but the guy started talking **** again and Beasley went right back to being way too agitated.
"A while back,'' Cardinal said, "I took a picture of the standings and texted it to Love, just to bust his chops,'' Cardinal said. "He sent me a picture back of a snowdrift.''

Have him star in an NBA Cares commercial. Ya, that will make him popular.

Stern would need to feel its to his advantage to improve Beas image before he will have him placed in one of those ads.

Depends on what's being marketed. Beas probably isn't going for the Durant, "What a nice quiet young man" market when he shows up for a streetball game -- that's for street cred.

The other thing that strikes me here is the old, "when the cat's away" mantra. If you've always wanted to push a loudmouth fan, do it when there's a lock-out. Yeah, there might be small reprecussions later (I really don't think this was so bad - nobody was even hurt), but if the NBA doesn't get rolling for another three months, this will be old news.

Extended highlights from the game. Beasley's handle looks much improved. He still sucks at defense though.

This is news worthy. Especially because were in a lock out. If it were Durant or Bron it still would have got brought out, saying it wouldn't is just odd. Beas.... what a clown shoe.

Read it yesterday and I expected it to be way worse. I honestly thought he punched the spectator. Not that it excuses anything, though.

On a somewhat related note, why are tournaments like this one always so damn crowded that spectators actually stand on the court? It would really piss me off if I was playing.

On a lighter note, I like B-easy's fresh new cut!
