Lockout Question
If a player has say a year on his contract, if the entire year is locked out. Will that year of his contract be rolled over to the next year.

Re: Lockout Question
I think yes, contracts are on a yearly basis, not season basis.

Re: Lockout Question
A contract that is scheduled to expire following the 2011-12 season should expire on June 30, 2012, whether or not the season is played. This means it's possible that 2012 free agents -- like Dwight Howard -- may have already played their last game for their current teams.

Re: Lockout Question
Bet Luke Walton will be pissed. This also really hurts last years and this years rookie class.
How bizarre would it be to have another draft and have double the number of rookies...

That is why I thought most of the top prospects that stayed in college made the smart choice. Another year of experience in college is only going to make these guys better. It should also increase the level of competition which will be good for the fans if the only ball they get to watch is college ball this season. Next year's draft could end up being the best since 03.

Lakers might actually have a first round pick for once. 4 years without one. Trading them away they say saves money, but also hurts the future talent on the lakers.

It's bad news for us as well seeing as we can't sign either one of their stars outright.

It's already the best since 03. If Andre Drummond is eligible next year then it stands to be even better.

Re: Lockout Question
Andre Drummond has to play 1 year of college. He is listed as a HHS. So he would not be ready to come out next year. At 6'10 and 250. He already has the body. He will be the first overall pick when ever he comes out I bet.

Re: Lockout Question
Why are the players and owners being so stubborn on meeting at places? I mean Stern completely out for 2 weeks so that prevents any negotiation? I wonder if these people care about getting a new agreement done? They'll start to worry once their little precious millions upon millions of dollars check is missing. This is more dysfunctional than the NFL negotiations.

It does come down to money. Millionairs do not want to give up there time off to do anything worth anything. But when it comes to loosing those fat checks, then there might be some movement and players coming to the table. I would think we are going to loose 20 game of the season. If so, we still have 62 games plus playoffs. I be happy with that and a new CBA and all this out of the way for 5 plus years.

+1. I think the last time we drafted a decent player in the first round that stayed on our roster ended up being Andrew Bynum.

Drummond has declared that he will play for UConn this upcoming season. It's more than likely he will be a one and done and be the #1 overall pick in the 2012 draft.
Lakers will tank harder than Toronto.

We're also going to see teams with scoring averages in the high 70s for the season
