I've been thinking about Cobb and how well he'll perform in the return game. He seems like a guy who wants to prove himself and if punts/kicks are the only times he gets touches, then I'm expecting some awesome returns.

#Packers Finley: "It's a business. If they come to me long term, I'll take it. But if they don't, I'll still play ball to my best."

I still maintain if it takes top TE money to get him locked up long term, then do it. The question arises if he wants WR money.

If the offensive guys get locked up, as i assume they will. Just wait until next year when the draft comes around and TT dedicates most of his top picks to defense. This team will needs its own horror movie

What's the biggest contract given to a TE?

Vernon Davis, 5/37 with 23 guaranteed, a couple months after Gates signed for 5/36 with 20 guaranteed.

If Clay Matthews can rack up 13½ regular-season sacks, add 3½ more in the postseason and finish runner-up for the NFL’s defensive player of the year award without taking a preseason snap and while playing the second half of the season on a broken leg, what can he do with a full preseason and a healthy limb?

Wait, a broken what?

Everyone knows Matthews missed all four preseason games last season with his second hamstring injury in as many training camps, but few knew the Green Bay Packers’ star outside linebacker played the second half of the season with a stress fracture in his lower leg.

Not sure how I feel about the over 6yr vets getting the night off with no real Family Night, Sunday and this coming Friday off. Granted those guys will probably be playing the least football on Saturday and like the quarterback said we are talking about practice but I would think with all those days off already, no offseason and the fact that everyone apparently sucked yesterday, you would wanna take advantage of every opportunity to get better.
F*** Marc Davis, f*** Tim Donaghy and f*** David Stern as a staff, record label and as a mothaf**kin crew......and if you wanna be down with Stern then F*** YOU TOO!!! Stu Jackson f*** you too.....all you mothaf**kas F*** YOU TOO!!!!

Packers reconsidering their base defense.

Would move Raji to Jenkins' vacated spot, put Pickett back at Nose and Neal over a tackle

I trust whatever Capers decides. Seems like Raji likes it, puts him in position to really be a playmaker.

Pickett seems like an awesome dude. "Took one for the team... loves to play the run" I remember 3 or 4 years ago, I was at camp and he was injured. He still came out and signed a ton of autographs. I walked away and came back to him asking people if he needed any autographs. He just seemed so bored he couldn't practice and just seemed like a great guy trying to make every person happy. It was getting to the point where I thought security would ask him to leave because he was loitering.

Pickett inside and Raji outside makes more sense to me as I picture Pickett as more of a block eater and Raji as a little quicker and more of a play maker. Having a playmaker at nose is nice but given the current guys it makes more sense to me to have Pickett inside.

I think Pickett at NT and Raji at DE makes a ton of sense. Pickett is great at just stuffing the point of attack, and Raji, for as many pass rushing opportunities as he saw at nose, will see even more at end.

I should know this already, but are Raji and Matthews going to be lined up on the same side? There could be arguments made for both (balance vs. dominating one side).

Peter King probably answered my question from yesterday.

One more thing: The Pack's going to have to find a role, and not just in tdhe return game, for this Cobb. He's a threat.

Return to Green Bay Packers
