Teague- Duhon- Sy

Then atl turns around R&T JC1 (5M ) and trades Hinrich- JC1- Rolle +2nd to POR for Batum, A Johnson and Camby
Teague- Duhon- Sy
JJ- A.J-FA (min)
Batum- Damian
Smoothe- Camby-Benson

Is there an actual rumor centered around this? I'd imagine we'd have to take Hedo as well.

I'd like to know this, as well.

The only real value you're giving Orlando is Al Horford. It's a no deal for Orlando as it's not a good enough return for them.

Why would Protland be interested in trading a young promising player like Batum? It makes no sense to me but I would love to acquire Batum.

Re: Rumored ATL/ ORL
Hard to believe any trade rumors in a lockout. Nothing can be discussed.
Also it is likely that the next cba has something in it that restores power to the teams rather than the free agent for retaining star players. Orlando wouldn't even think about a trade until they are forced to consider it.
Other aspects is the possibility that S&T goes away and that if the season is lost that Dwight would be a free agent already.
You want a more believable rumor:
Atlanta sends Joe Johnson to Orlando for Hedo Turkoglu, JJ Redick and a 1st rounder. Orlando has no flexibility to rebuild and keep Dwight happy. This deal gives them a warrior SG/SF to mix. Atlanta gets future flexibility without taking back Gilbert Arenas's huge contract. Hedo would rival Marvin as most likely to get an amnesty buyout, but after this season is lost Joe would be 4 yrs/90M while Hedo is 2 yr/23M (Redick would be 1yr/7M). That's a lot of difference on the bottom line.

Crawford becomes less of a priority because the Hawks become an instant contender, but you never know, with the new owner, he might be more than willing to spend the money for Jamal along with Joe's and Dwight's contract.

^you would like it lol.
JJ Redick and the corpse of Turkoglu for what was a matchup nightmare for JJ. We rebuild but give you guys a JJ+Harper tandem...

only way I trade Al is for Motiejunas and bigs. Not Westbrook, who is a SG and we have backed ourselves into a corner wuth our wings.
Al is our only shot at scoring big men. most every team has a Russell Westbrook combo guard they're developing.

We keep Horford at Center, Smith plays PF, Marvelous plays SG alongside Hinrich/Teague and Turkoglu is our point forward?
How're you gonna pitch that to our new owner, the guy who wants to win? "Uh, sir, Joe Johnson is 10 times the player Turkoglu is and we're still capped out but, hey!, in a few years, we'll have a little cap freedom. Of course, we'll STINK until then... and, even then, there's little prospect for improvement, but we'll have gotten rid of that Johnson contract we've all been obsessing over."

I rather call him Marvin Gaye, that is his middle name after all. And he hasnt rlly "earned" Marvelous.
But yes, lets try to avoid giving key players to help Orlando retain Dwight...

Actually, I see Turkoglu as an amnesty buyout and then a 2012/2013 roster of:
Teague (expiring, but rookie rights)
Redick (expiring)
Josh Smith (expiring)
Al Horford (4 yrs/48M
Zaza Pachulia (expiring)
Marvin Williams (2 yrs/17M)
Pape Sy (expiring)
2012 1st round pick
2012 2nd round pick
The total salary around 51M without any rollbacks. The team would be filled in with free agents. We'd have over 26M in expiring contracts to wheel and deal or we'd be able to rebuild under new cap rules if we let them expire. The amnesty clause is expected to be likely in any settlement because the player gets paid and the team gets flexibility. The team gets built around Horford/Teague/2012 1st and 2013 1st and whomever we may be able to get in trade or attract in free agency.
I expect 2011-2012 to be canceled (which eats a year of contracts) and then I'm talking about a step back in 2012 (border line playoff contender) in order to build right and competitive. It's worth the buyout and the risk of a season to not squander the half a decade on the decay of Joe Johnson. I'd risk Joe's decline if he was a marketable star, but he's not. He's just a solid basketball player and never should have been signed at an average of 20M a year (shame on the ASG for doing something stupid and then falling back on the we had no choice argument).

Portland has had ample opportunity to acquire Hinrich for a much lower cost than what you're proposing here and has declined. Camby also happens to be our starting center while Batum's defensive prowess and bullseye shooting aren't something we're willing to give up for a fringe starter. Personally I've advocated acquiring Hinrich before but the Portland FO clearly isn't interested in him.
