Reinvested isn't enough, it has to be reinvested in one player.

Ideas? I'd like Sneijder but that seems unlikely. Eto'o makes too much in wages I'd think. Perhaps Mata or Eden Hazard.

Problem with re-investing in this market is that a player with a decent amount of potential like Mata would pretty much consume a majority of the money and then you still have to buy a defender or two and a solid striker that can last a season and score 20 goals or so.

Adebayor would be a decent buy but I guess that ship has sailed once he flipped off the Arsenal fans not so long ago.

Yeah that's the biggest issue considering guys like Pastore cost more than Fabregas.

I don't think Wenger would buy either Sneijder or any of the City guys because the wages are astronomical and Arsenal were haggling over paying Nasri 110k not so long ago. These guys are all over 200k a week easily.

There's zero chance, on Sneijder, Kolo, or Yaya, imo. Kolo is old balls, and the others make too much in wages (plus Sneijder and RVP don't get a long). I can't see us going over 200k a week in wages, but we could still get a great player for less than that.

Samir Nasri never earned the 110k he wanted, that's why they wouldn't pay it. Arsenal don't seem to have a problem going over that for RVPs new deal.

From what I can see Mata, or Hazard, are the most realistic. After that it's Kagawa, Eriksen, or Gotze. There is a chance we could go for someone more established, a de Rossi, Schweinsteiger, Ribery, but it's unlikely, imo.

According to Gazidis we are going to bring in a couple defenders, most likely Cahill and a LB. A striker would be good, but that's less pressing if we get another good winger or two who can allow Gervinho and Walcott to play more at striker. I would love another top striker to play up front with RVP, like Cavani, or Benzema, but I don't see it happening.

If we are selling all the players we're planning we should have a pretty good chunk of money. Fabregas, Nasri, Bendtner, Vela, Eboue should fetch a pretty good chunk of change, along with whatever we have left in the kitty.

Well, I've never seen Arsenal pay for a star. They always settle for young talents. I'd bet a couple hundreds, that they won't sign anyone for more than 30 mil. € as long as Wenger is in charge. They just have a different philosophy. That's why they're not able win the EPL and CL anymore, too.

Dortmund will do the best to keep their team together. Subotic is a guy who'll definitely leave one day. Other than that Kagawa and Götze seem generally like great guys who're happy to play for Dortmund and won't leave in the next 2 or 3 years.

Normally I'd agree. But selling Cesc (and maybe Nasri) is about the only situation I could see them spending big money on a single player. It may not be over 30, but I could certainly see them dropping 25 on a Hazard, Mata, or something

That might be the case, yeah. If they drop Cesc and/or Nasri they're even further away from competing for a title again, though, even if they add Hazard and/or Mata.

It's like a structural problem. Wenger wants to work with young guys but young guys don't win titles. Arsenal is kinda doomed to be second fiddle forever as long as you have United, Chelsea and City spending big money on proven players.

Young guys are cheaper. Unfortunately, gone are the days when you can buy a Bergkamp for 7 Mil, Vieira for 4, or Henry for 10. Even Andy F'n Carroll costs 35 Mil now.

I think AVB would like Hulk, but he's going to be overpriced and I doubt Porto would want to do business with us (unless we meet that ridiculous buyout fee).

Yeah, I meant players from the Portuguese league. He does have a ridiculous buy out but like we see with so many transfers, once his head is turned he can be had for a good offer and knowing Chelsea's issues with playing with width I can see AVB looking at that option.

Honestly I do not see us buying another striker until we let someone go. You'd have to assume Sturridge (English), Torres and Lukaku (new signings) would have to stay, so Kalou, Anelka and Drogba would be on their way out.
