A healthy DD is our second best WR. You guys do not give DD enough credit.

He will have a great year and further prove you skeptics wrong about his age limiting him.

He is our MOST CLUTCH WR INSIDE the numbers and quite frankly, Jones and Nelson have not proven this.

The Super Bowl proves how un clutch those two were with all of the drops :-?

DD was hurt and had an off year, he may be old but he still has it

we talked about Favre getting old and he had that 2007 season and then he had that 2009 season

players that know how to play will still perform

give our man his due and quit short changing him

I know this is nothing but anecdotal evidence, but my 2010 taste of Donald Driver consists of one amazing play, a favorable impression in the first 3 weeks, and then an inexplicable (for him) number of drops the rest of the way and what could have been one hell of a costly fumble (more mental than jarring hit if anything) during the final game of the regular season.
You gotta make it sexy! Hips and nips, otherwise I'm not eating.

I disagree. Jordy came up huge in the super bowl despite the drops. Everytime he had a drop he came back with a huge play.

Jordy had huge plays but the margin of victory would have been, SHOULD have been much more bigger and comfortable had he made the plays he was supposed to make..along with Jones

The Steelers still had a good shot at the end because of those costly drops

DD had a sub par year, he had one in 2003 when he had a bad neck injury that put his future in some doubt.

I still trust Driver more than those other two and I'm glad the coaching staff feels the same

Nelson had 140 yards receiving in the Super Bowl and DD left the game injured. It's odd to use that game as evidence against Nelson and for DD.

While I do agree DD should be better than last year, I also don't think he's clearly ahead of JJ or Nelson. Age catches up with EVERYONE at some point.

He also had those 2008 and 2010 seasons. And like Favre we have better, younger options to go to.

He was hurt from about week 5 on with a quad injury that still had him missing practice time by the time the SB rolled around. He still ended up second on the team in snaps at the WR spot last year.

I don't think DD has lost much skill wise. It is only a question of if he can avoid the injuries that plagued him last year. He was great the first 5 weeks of the season last year.

Undoubtedly one reason #Packers are switching from night to day practices is too-cool weather at night. Carolina in Week 2? Gotta get ready.

Ya think?

Sure Detroit has some nice pieces and they are a little better than the 2-14 team we've become used to but get real.I seriously don't get the overrating/over-hyping of Detroit.

Our main problem last year against Detroit was that we had no running game. They could fly up field regardless of the down with no repercussions because or HBs were no threat. With Grant back and with a healthy Starks, we will be able to match up much better with a team like Detroit this year. I expect a steady diet on the ground with some really big play action passes to our WRs and Finley this year against them.

We struggled last year with teams that had a very good front 4 because of or lack of a run game (Detroit and Chicago come to mind). Our mindset in attacking them this year will be much different.

Starks and Green are very good receivers coming out of the backfield. We need to throw those quick swing passes and screens to keep them honest.

Shields hurt tonight, hip pointer. Miss some camp time but nothing serious. None of Shields, Williams, Woodson, House will play Saturday though.

I've come to absolutely hate the preseason, at least for the Packers. Years ago when the Packers were full of unproven young guys and older vets I was interested in seeing how they stacked up against other teams. Now I'd be happy if Finley, Wood, Tramon, etc. never saw the field.

Other teams can go out and beat the hell out of each other all they want. But when you have the most talented team in the league it's like running a gauntlet of potential injuries.

Yep. I don't care if any of them play a down preseason.

Return to Green Bay Packers
