1. Fact or Fiction: Walker will become the starting PG in his rookie year.

Spencer Wellesley Percy, Queen City Hoops: Fact. There are few believers in D.J. Augustin left in Charlotte.

Oh man, I love it when these articles mention that Chandler was such a huge loss for us. If he wasn't injured, he was usually a POS on the court. I mean, we traded for Theo Ratliff and made him our starter. THEO RATLIFF.

Makes me rage a little on the inside.

I agree Jaruff... it's revisionist history to say that he was anything other than a disaster for us.

I'm not going to celebrate the fact that people don't believe in Augustin... the best thing for the team is for him AND Walker to become awesome, and then we trade one.

TC was a disaster? :crazy:

As for Augustin, good Lord no chance in hell he becomes awesome. If there was even the slightest chance of that then Walker would not have been drafted.

I don't remember seeing any leadership from Tyson.

I do remember his teammates calling him out for being a soft, pansy ass basketball player.

So because the guy was hurt ALL SEASON LONG and still tried to play through it, he is now a soft, pansy ass basketball player? I don't seem to remember his Hornets and Mavs teammates calling him that when he was healthy.

Oh and how do we know Wallace wasn't referring to princess Boris?

He played in only 51 games and only started 27. Crash had broken ribs and a collapsed lung and he was back on the floor in two weeks. Not to mention the various other injuries he and Ray played through. How many times did Chandler say, "I won't return until I'm 100%"? Too many for most fans' taste. He's a pansy.

I don't like Okafor either so I don't know why you keep throwing jabs at him like it's going to bother me :roll:

But surely you don't believe playing 4-on-5 is better than having Okafor out there. I know you're irrational with your hatred for certain players, but you're better than that

i really wish i knew the behind the scenes that went on with chandler that year. if he really was playing passionless and playing with no heart and nursing his injuries, then he deserves to be called out by his teammates. however, when watching him play in person, i never got that impression from him. he always appeared to be very engaged. to me is problem was foul trouble. possibly a result of not having his confidence and/or his timing due to the injuries.

water under the bridge at this point. we may never really know the whole story.

all i know is, he looked great in the playoffs this year.

but we have bismack now.

To be fair, Crash wasn't exactly Mr. Consistency at the start of that season either. He had some great rebounding games but there were a lot of no shows too. But I'm not getting on him because he gave everything he had for us and I have no complaints. It's just a damn shame we didn't get a healthy Chandler all season long because he could have really helped us defensively in the playoffs. If you don't have your legs at 100%, especially at center with all of the banging under the hoop, you really can't contribute much for an extended period of time on the court.

Anyway, its over and done with and that was still a pretty fun second half of that season.

Like Fats said, we now have some new blood in here and we're all excited about that. Just need to boot the old blood (DJ) which is what I was referring to in my initial post.

If he'd have been healthy all year, we could have been closer to that 50 win plateau that gave us an Atlanta matchup instead of Orlando. If that happens, do we ride the end of the year momentum into the 2nd round? Sure would've been better than the shellacking that kept us in "they're a joke" status. I know it's a huge what if scenario, but it's still a big part of why I don't like him.

I also wouldn't have as much disdain for him if he wasn't paid so much. But that's beside the point as I still have Diaw/Diop pairing to complain about.

There's only one player you can credit for that; Larry Hughes. I know he had me school-girl excited.

Adam Morrison was indeed the greatest disaster to hit this franchise. We really didn't have much choice in trading Tyson. He demanded a trade.

This is news to me. I had always read that Nazy was one of the locker room leaders that everyone respected.

I loved Gerald as much as anyone here. His name used to be my moniker afterall. Gerald was quick to throw other people under the bus. Think about it how many times have you ever seen Gerald take responsibility for a loss?

If we can find a trade that really improves the team then yes I would trade anyone on the roster, but there is no need to trade DJ. In this new pointguard driven league two speedy pointguards capable of starting is a luxury. We need to try to make it work.
