Once the season gets rolling I'll be fine, it's just disappointing sitting here with the taste of Barca's ass in my mouth

I'm a big Sneijder fan and wasn't sure if he was ever going to be a real possibility, but it seemed destined to happen this summer. Looks like I'll have to settle for an Ashley Young jersey.
Really looking forward to the start of the season though, and hopefully our central midfield (especially Cleverley when given an opportunity) impresses and we can win the league again

I just don't like our CL chances against the likes of Real/Barca with Carrick/Fletcher/Anderson/Cleverley/Giggs manning central midfield.

Super expensive and only had 1 great season. You guys will be fine. Just pray someone else beats Barca for you.

I still expect us to sign someone more low-key to bridge the central midfield gap. With Fletcher's illness, Giggs' age and Anderson's fitness there's not much cover other than Cleverly and Gibson.
Seeing as how Ferguson hasn't played Gibson at all in the preseason I do not expect him to be with us for too long.

I actually see us having a chance if we play a 2 legged tie with Barca but in one game, there's really no way to hide our midfield.

Ya I've been assuming Gibson will leave, just a matter of where to.
And I understand the cons of Sneijder (there are plenty of question marks even if we were to add him), I've just been waiting for a superstar signing since Ronaldo left and this looked like our best chance.

Lol. He's just a douche if he accepts this. Wasting away the last years of your prime in Russia's prairie.
He can still do it once he's 33 but not with 30.

I lol'ed at this:
The club’s players live and train in the Moscow region and fly in for home matches.

Re: Transfer Thread 2.0! New and improved
I would have liked to see him play in the PL, but 300k a week is a lot of money. He would have been stupid to turn it down considering he's won so many things already.

He can still take it when he's 33 but not in his prime.

At least I wouldn't go for the money if I could choose between playing for a great European team and getting millions per year vs. playing in the middle of nowhere for more money in my prime.
Seriously, there's nothing wrong when Roberto Carlos plays for Anzhi but wasting away your prime on that club is just dumb.

Wow Vela going now too. I have a theory that AW is secretly hoarding cash...seriously nobody can be that cheap.

Tom Cleverley is a decent talent, I honestly think United should wait until January before making a move for Sneijder, not just so that he can give some guys a go, but Inter right now looks like a mess and it'd be hard for him to say no to a move to United come January.

That would be kinda dumb from United considering he couldn't play in the Champions League then.

It's better than nothing, I honestly don't think he's going anywhere this summer.

Arsenal in for Marseille's Lucho Gonzales. His agent told RMC Sport that Arsenal have made contact and will discuss a transfer this week.
Do want.
Do want.

He's 30-plus, and not a crappy CB. Doesn't seem like an Arsenal buy.
We certainly need some help in midfield, and soon.
