Good solid win there, nothing too spectacular but WBA away is a nice win to take with Spurs and Arsenal coming up next.

That Tchoyi guy is a freaking unit though, wonder why they play him on the wing, he could be a handful for any center back if he plays center forward.

He needs to buy a midfielder or two, for sure. Our defense, was solid today. Gibbs, Kos, Vermaelan, Sneezy, all looked good. We have about 17 wingers, but only 1 true striker, and a couple midfielders. With Song suspended the next 3 (assuming the EPL has a brain), Wilshere, and Diaby out, we're looking at a terrifying trio of Ramsey, Rosicky, and Frimpong for the next few games.

Not to mention Gevinho's out for the next three, it's going to be rough. We're looking at:

-------RVP
Arshavin---Walcott
--Rosicky--Ramsey
-----Frimpong

With only Chamberlain, Miyaichi, and Chamakh available off the bench.

Jones/Smalling/Evans to be tested further:

BBC: Back to all things Manchester United, meanwhile, and Sir Alex Ferguson has revealed Rio Ferdinand will be out for six weeks with a hamstring injury, Nemanja Vidic (back) a couple of weeks and Rafael da Silva 10 weeks. Patrice Evra will return next week, though.

This is the thing I hate about United. They do not play well, but they are still able to get all of the points.

I dont know why they insist on playing Smalling at RB. Even against City when he was praised, he didn't look comfortable at all. He should just be playing ball-playing CB IMO

I was going to mention the EXACT same thing after the City game. Sure he looked good going forward sometimes because of his mobility, but he wasn't comfortable at all defensively. I'd rather see Jones or Evans at fullback if they must.

Arsenal's goalkeeping problem is a myth. We're actually quite happy with Szczesny, moreso than United with De Gea, I'm sure.

For £3.5 million, not sure why nobody went for him.

And it's not a myth, sure Szczesny played well towards the end of last season but there is still an uncertainty there.

It's only 3.5 million, but I bet the wages are pretty high.

As far as uncertain, he makes mistakes, as young keepers tend to, but we're satisfied with him as our #1. As far as backups, Fabianksi played well last season and Mannone has yet to lose a game in an Arsenal shirt, though, he only played a few games.

I can guarantee it won't be that high, It'd probably be just above the average wage for the Arsenal team, I mean he is signed for Aston Villa.

Don't get me wrong I agree that you guys are satisfied with him as your number 1, but at the end of the day for the price that Given was had, you guys would've definitely benefited much more greatly with Given. I'm sure Arsenal fans and the Arsenal defence would feel more secure with Given as your number 1 than any of your keeper.

Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal all need midfield cover. Liverpool and Arsenal especially need someone who can create in midfield. I agree with Wenger in Arsenal becoming a feeder club. He has money available, he needs to spend some. Liverpool clearly miss Gerrard but the guy is always injured and they look rather mediocre without him. ManU look great for the first 20 minutes or so, Should of been up 3-0. Nani looked like crap. Poor passing and finishing. Ferdinand and Vivic hurt in the first game of the season? :nonono:

I know it it the first game so things should improve with all so I will wait and see if it was an anomaly for these teams or if this is what we are in for this season.

Liverpool doesn't need midfield cover. In fact we are log jammed in the center of the pitch. Gerrard/Henderson/Aquilani/Adam/Lucas/Meireles. Not to mention Spearing (who sucks IMO), Maxi, and Poulsen. Liverpool looked good to me on Sat. Remember this is a team with a lot of new players. They will need time to gel. One thing I really like about this team is that we can play the ball on the ground pretty effectively (as opposed to hoofing). Liverpool needs a center half or a backup striker/winger before they need another central midfielder.

Liverpool will be fine, the issue is how they integrate Gerrard with Adam doing so well and the two strikers forming a great partnership.

Maxi and Downing on the wings would be a great combo and I read somewhere they made a bid for Gary Cahill from Bolton. Glen Johnson will be back soon so Flannagan doesn't have to start. They are a solid side and will surely finish top 4 this season.

Holy ****.

Mikel played in Sunday's 0-0 draw at Stoke despite learning a day previously that his father had gone missing on Friday.

Speaking on Sky Sports News, Mikel said he and his family are yet to hear anything regarding his father's whereabouts or who might have taken him, and he made a direct appeal for his father's release.
