I'm still on the "start Newhouse at RT, Bulaga to LG" train.

I've always thought Newhouse looked like a natural left tackle. Had the kind of feet and natural ability that lends itself to the position. I don't know if he's got the game you usually see out of RTs. Not to say he doesn't, I just don't know.

I think LT is simply harder to play. I don't see an issue with playing a guy that can play LT at RT.

For the most part RTs are simply failed (or never were) LTs.

Peter King
You'll want to read my MMQB lead on the mindset of the Packers. So much admirable about those who run the team and those who play on it.

Peter King has a good read on the Pack in the new MMQB

I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

In my mind, Lang looked like the best out of Lang, Sherrod, and Newhouse so it will be interesting to see how the younger guys play in the next few games.

WR Chastin West = this year's best Packer player to NOT make the team.

I read somewhere that in many instances, an offensive tackle's ability to successfully play the left and right side has almost everything to do with his dominant hand. Not sure just how true that is, but it makes some sense to me.

Also, there are fewer and fewer teams in the NFL that are looking for different skill sets in left and right tackles. Left tackles are asked to be more than just finesse pass protectors, and guys on the right side need to be more than maulers. The only reason I think left tackle is harder than the right side is because it is almost always the QB's blind side and, consequently, defenses put their best outside pass rusher in that position.

Moreover, with the way many passing offenses have evolved into quick release, sometimes spread offenses, many teams have placed a much bigger emphasis on the interior of the offensive line because defenses have reacted to this new quick release passing game reality by making interior pressure a much higher priority than edge pressure. I believe Logan Mankins' contract is partially a reflection of that new way of thinking.

It makes sense about the dominant hand thing, just like some wr prefer lining up on one side. Is it Reggie Wayne that always lines up on one side of Manning? Beyond that I'd think some guys are just more comfortable getting out of a stance and making a quick step either left or right to get to a speed rusher.

AdamSchefter Adam Schefter
Another big move for the Bills: Buffalo is releasing former first-round pick Aaron Maybin.

Let Elmore go and bring him in for a look?

I'd definitely bring in Maybin. We have nothing to lose.

Obviously, but we still have nothing to lose. And it's not like we have a sure fire guy at ROLB right now.

Greene can develop talent, I'd definitely take a look there.

I agree. He's been very impressive. OTOH, the worst packer to make the team.... Pat Lee.

TyDunne:
Cobb another deep reception from 12. Has outperformed his peers at WR today.
