Yanks @ KC Royal with cheese

Post#1 » by Dr. Detfink » Mon Aug 15, 2011 11:40 pm

Yanks have the best run differential and .5 from first place....they have a lighter part of their schedule coming up, can they finish strong?

AJ takes the mound....

Yup, only AJ can make a game against the Royals interesting...

But I hope this game gives him some confidence because he needs to log in some innings for the Yanks to have any hope of winning the division.

Our 9M 7th inning guy had a rough outing...

Jeter at .282...yea, @#$ all of the haters. I hope Levine and Cashman burn for all their bull.

I wonder if the 3,000 hit plateau bothered him. Now that's over he can focus on just winning. Don't get me wrong, I would be stunned if he finishes .290 if he finishes at .280 that's acceptable for a man his age.

Odd night sharing first on Burnett's day on the mound....but Yanks have a chance with KC and the O's.

I would rather face Detroit in best of 5 than Texas.

Royals have Nova's number...no question. Need to get him out in the 5th and hope it's only 1 run deficit.

Definitely a character win cause Nova needed bailing out big time.

As for Jetes progress, suck it Cashman and Levine...and all the haters.

I know. I couldn't believe it myself. I can see posada on the dugout telling stories around the campfire, "Back in 1899..."

Tremendous opportunity on the table tonight....

First, Colon finally has an opponent that he might go longer than 5-6 innings. Bless you Bartolo.

Second, Red Sox lost...that's 2 in the loss column, HUGE opportunity to get a little wiggle room.

Third, Yanks are two wins from going 30 games over .500...and they have the best win differential.

You get this feeling the Yanks are ONE key away from returning to the WS...For now, they'll need their stars to perform like stars.

Going nuts watching Swisher come up there hacking at the first pitch that turns into a double play....

then Colon serves up one to Melky whom Swisher misplays and leads to a triple...

Colon has been all over the plate. He's not going to last past the 6th...AGAIN.

I called it at the beginning...Colon would be done in the second half, he's NOT the guy he once was. He's thirty-eight and in the post roid age, this is logically what you get.

So for anyone who still thinks Colon over Jimenez, I have a bridge to sell ya.

first of all melky all of a sudden has HR power.. OK.. whatever

Next, just a tough loss that should not have been.. these 3 and 4 run innings by our starters is becoming commonplace it seems..

that 9th inning rally falls short.. the key at bat as cano.. really what was he looking for that he was late on soria's not so fast, fastballs? he kept fouling off pitches he crushes..

and then posada? what was he looking for up there?

we missed an opportunity to take a 1.5 game lead over boston..
