Kobe "allegedly" involved in altercation at church

Post#1 » by Anklebreaker702 » Tue Aug 16, 2011 2:27 pm

Kobe Bryant is being investigated by San Diego police for an alleged altercation with a man at a local church, according to a KCBS-TV report.

On Sunday at a church in Carmel Valley, Bryant allegedly grabbed a cellphone from the man who sustained an injury to his wrist.

Bryant believed the man was taking photos of him and his wife, but no photos were seen when inspecting the phone.

The guy should have been escorted out of the church for having his cell phone out, regardless if he was taking pictures or not...
I know our ushers would have.
If you need to have your phone out in church, just don't bother coming. Show a little class and respect.

Obviously, I don't really have a problem with this. I wish laws took more of this stuff into account. Unfortunately Kobe will probably have to pay the fool.

You guys are such homers:
1. The guy wasn't even taking pictures of him, which makes kobe look like even more of a premadonna.

2. Even if he was, this is a free country. Ever heard of the 1st Amendment? Kobe is not Stalin, he cant just take people out for taking pictures of him.

3. If he wants privacy, he should leave that church and go to one that does not allow this type of activity. Or, he could do what the bible actually says instead of just trying to make an appearance as most christians do:

Matthew 6:5-6
5. And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites [are]: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. 6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.

and im not even religious.

Normal celebreties will tell you that its all "part of the job." He is making tens of millions of dollars a year, and part of the reason for that has to do with the fact that he is always in the public eye. If no one knew who he was, he wouldn't be making any money.

The only premadonna here is the guy that's looking to milk this into a lawsuit. In a week's time this well be settled out of court and the guy will show up to work in a new mercedes.

The dictionary defines altercation as an angry dispute. So there you go.

Dude's a dick for having his cell phone out in church anyways, someone needed to slap it out his hand. He's a bitch for complaining about his wrist too. What is he, 12? I bet has had more serious injuries jerking it to Kobe's life.

1.) If this was me and say my BF at church and some dude takes out his cell phone and aims it towards me and my BF goes over and takes the phone away, will this even be an issue? Aside from the fact that people will just stop a fight from happening, the dude with his cell phone will not be suing nor will he claim his wrist is hurt from my BF snatching his phone away.

2.) While this isn't a written rule or the law, who takes out their cell phone at church? I highly doubt he took out his phone to text privately otherwise Kobe would not have walked over. Kobe must have saw the dude take out his cell and aim it around his area.

3.) Like point number 1, if this happened to non famous people then there will be no story. It could be any of you with your wife, if u see a dude at church of all places aiming a cell towards your family you might head over there and ask the dude WTH is he doing.

4.) Maybe the dude hit delete when he saw Kobe proceed him? We do not know......

I see nothing wrong with what Kobe did, but sadly the media will make Kobe look like an @$$hole here. Nothing wrong with protecting your family, i don't see how you can justify an attempt in taking pictures of people especially at church.

I thought people knew better than to take out a phone at church. Growing up if I took out my phone in church my parents would have beat the living daylight out of me. I used to not bother taking my phone inside church. This guy is going to end up looking like a big dumb ass at the end of this.

Kobe Bryant is finally responding to allegations he scrapped in church last Sunday -- and says his accuser is flat out lying.

Kobe's attorney Mark Campbell says the Los Angeles Lakers superstar is "aware of the baseless allegations asserted against him, and is prepared to defend against them fully."

Kobe attended a church in Carmel Valley, CA on Sunday ... and allegedly grabbed a cell phone from a man he thought was trying to take photos of him and his family. The man reportedly claims his wrist was injured.

Campbell identified Kobe's accuser as Thomas Hagos.

San Diego police tell TMZ they want to question Hagos about the alleged incident before they decide if they need to talk to Kobe.

Bryant's a public figure. That's the consequence for being one, he should've known better.

He's a father first, and protecting his wife and kids. He's considerate enough to walk around church without security, why shouldn't the public be considerate enough to not bug him?
