Terrence Williams

Post#1 » by canucklife21 » Wed Aug 10, 2011 2:18 am

what is the deal with terrence williams and how come he hasnt turned into a starter yet? he got traded to houston which he was geting no PT ne ways.. i know he doesnt have a jump shot and cant really play off the ball but with his ability such as ball handing, vision and jump i expected big things out of him. His playing making ability and his size would be a great addition to the wolves roster.. i know he has some sort of off the court issues (which i havent heard) but clearly his talent is something khan should look into.. could be low risk high reward type of deal.. heres a link of his first game in houston check out the passes!

Houston is a bad place to be a swingman. They have Martin to commands 30+ a night, Budinger was a nice surprise for them, they had Shane Battier for a while, and Courtney Lee turned into a solid roleplayer, even Brooks was getting time away from the point when he was still there. Lots of wings, a team that was gunning for the playoffs and he has a lot of things to work on. His ability to absolutely tear up the D-League like they were 4th graders is a little proof he has NBA talent and will likely get a chance someplace.

from what i've seen of him, dude is fricken ridiculously talented...must be the mental side/lack of maturity that is holding him back....certainly wouldn't mind having him here and taking a flyer on him.

We don't need swingmen either. His best bet would be to go to Boston.

People are already complaining about Beasley here why would we want T-Will, too?

What's Williams actually done wrong? I was hoping Kahn might look into getting him when he was benchwarming in Houston. He showed some pretty good signs in his rookie season.

Not much has been reported about him but he seemed to have a bad relationship with the Nets FO. Otherwise he wouldn't have been traded for a showbag (2012 rockets pick).

You don't trade a young promissing player away for a pick in a draft 2 years later unless you have a logjam on that position or the player has fallen out of favour.

T-Will is a bit of a knucklehead, but nothing too bad. He's very confident and some see that as overly cocky. Extremely talented, with the ability to put up triple doubles. Rebounds, passes, and plays defense well. Great SG size. I'm definitely a huge fan of his. He did have a couple kids already before being drafted, so I'm sure that's used against him.

He's not a great outside shooter, but I think he has the physical ability and all around game to be a great player if given the chance in the right situation. I'd love to have him here. I've pimped him up a couple times on this forum before.

Personally his play- making skills can be a HUGE asset to the wolves with all the young bigs that we already have.. also can spot rubio some mins at the backup point guard spot.. with all the young guns we already have i see him fiting right in and he is a WILLING defender(unlike b-easy) just what the wolves need

Williams had a problem with being consistently late to Nets practices and meetings. He also has low BBIQ.

He's exactly what we don't need on this team.

But he can't really dribble, and he shoots way worse and with not as much range as Rubio... its why he's thought of as a SF and not a SG in the NBA.

there is a place in the NBA for Corey Maggette Jr who doesn't have the shot nor the handles of the original, but its not here.

dont know which corey maggette you speak of because terrence can definitely dribble and pass much better then him.. you are right his shooting is very poor however hopefully with a proper role defined role can allow him to develop

I like T-Will, but I like Wes, Beas, DW7, and Webster better.

I'd do Lazar and Ellington for him, but I don't think the minutes are there and I think he'd hurt our chemistry more than help it if he's not getting playing time (which he wouldn't over the players stated above).
