I think that Amir Johnson is a very good 2-way player who is still improving, and has shown flashes of being elite in defense, while shooting a high percentage. Bargnani is a very good scorer who has disappointed in defense. I think we may try it out with him one more time if there is a season this year. Bargs and Gortat would be a good pairing, so maybe we can deal at the deadline for some valuable pieces, we definitely wont be looking to dump him.

Raps

Bayless - Barbosa - D League Like Stinson

Sign me up for that deal.
Heck we would even take Ridnour as well from Minny.
Unfortunately will never happen Gortat is basically untouchable in Phoenix....Beasley is a head case.
Don't think Minny wants Jose.
But great fantasy trade.

Hey guys, dont think this needs a thread of its own and I don't mean to derail the thread, but anybody have that clip of the Raptors from the 06/08 seasons (can't remember which) where the Raptors were passing the ball around beautifully and it ended with an open 3 from AP?

Here is a good one:

Toronto trades: Jose Calderon and A Bargnani to Miami, who trades Chris Bosh and filler to Indiana, who trades Granger and Dantay Jones back to Toronto

Miami trades Bosh for 2 quality pieces that fit their need (a ball distributor and a stretch 4), Indiana gets their all-star PF they are looking for, and Raptors get the SF they are looking for to pair with Derozan.

^^I really, really like that.

Bargs and Lebron would be a great pairing. Jose Calderon would be real good in that system.

Bosh is a great fit in Indy. Granger a great fit in Toronto.

It would be epically hilarious if this went down for obvious reasons.

Would be good trade not sure how it would work financially think Raptors might have to take on a contract like Joel Anthony from Miami. There would be no need to take on Dantay Jones.

Hmm how about Toronto trades: Jose Calderon, A Bargnani, and James Johnson to Miami for Chris Bosh and Mike Miller, who goes to the Pacers for Danny Granger, James Posey, and Dantay Jones. I think the salaries work here.

I wouldn't give up Ed for Iggy, he's almost 28 now and is paid a lot of money, has concerns with his knee and simply isn't the type of guy that can carry a team but is paid like one. If we could get him for someone on a similar contract like Bargs, sure why not, but not if we're giving up a promising young prospect like Ed. We need to look for younger players that can be part of the longterm future of our team. We're better off drafting a Miller/Gilchrist/Barnes with our pick this year (or if we're lucky enough to be able to draft someone better than those guys with our pick, like say, Drummond, then maybe we see if someone is willing to deal their pick for Ed and we can select a SF or PG).

Way too much value for Iguodala. If you want to offer something for him think more along the lines of Bargnani.

I think Minny might want Jose to help mentor Rubio...

Do you seriously value Ed Davis above Andre Iguodola?

A young big man over an almost 30 year old wing who doesn't fit beside out current shooting guard? Yeah.

Not if he fits their team better than Iggy.

Iguodala is 3 years away from being 30 years old as opposed to being 'almost' 30 years old.

This place is insufferable.

Iggy is a tough one. He's more valuable than Ed Davis at this point for sure, but I still doubt I would trade Ed for Iggy while I think I definitely would trade Bargs and maybe James Johnson for him. The funny thing is, I think he compliments Bargnani very well. Iggy is a great defender, a solid playmaker, and a decent scorer who would look good next to Bargnani while also giving us someone who could push Bargs to the bench on days when Iggy is producing points and we want to go with a strong defensive unit with Iggy, Val and Amir.

It's a good trade to make if you have any faith/optimism in Bargnani, which I still do, but I'd still be extremely hesitant. Not sure I do it, but I think it's a pretty solid trade idea.

And we are not competing right now. So being almost 30 will turn to 30 by that time. See how it works?

It's not going to take us 3 years to start competing.
