I wish NO would go for this trade in a heartbeat. Unfortunately, I don't think that it is a good trade foe NO and I don't think they will do it.

This is as good as it gets for the Hornets unless a team like the Thunder offer up Westbrook in a deal for Paul.

DeAndre can't be signed and traded along with other players. He would have to be moved in a separate deal which could probably be worked out. DeAndre would also have to agree to this and I'm not sure why he would.

Put Kaman in the package instead of DeAndre and we're talking. The Hornets really don't have much leverage here since Paul is going to be a free agent. This deal gets out from the long and expensive contracts of Okafor and Ariza. If they do decide to trade Paul this deal saves them an obscene amount of money, 2 young pieces, and what could be a great pick.

There's no other team in the league that can offer up a package like that would be good for the Hornets and still have enough talent for Paul to want to extend with that team. Some teams can offer a nice package, but in turn leave their team in a worse situation than the Hornets are already in.
