Yanks vs Soon to be San Jose Money Ballers

Post#1 » by Dr. Detfink » Tue Aug 23, 2011 8:28 am

I make no secret how disgusted I am that Billy Beane, a guy whose teams went NOWHERE has a movie with Brad Pitt that obscures how they were able to lie to teams about stars breaking down from PEDs and rob them of prospects...and other used car salesmen tactics to LEAVE Oakland. I'm sure they did it for the fans....*rolls eyes*

Surprised no one has the brass cajones to make Canseco's book into a movie...hmm?

At any rate, I believe this series will determine whether or not the Yanks win the AL East. Boston lost to the Texas Rangers, still a VERY dangerous team. If the Yanks can crack a 3 loss lead on the Sawx then I believe they have a shot to take the AL East and best record in the AL even if the Sawx win the next head to head series.

The more intriguing question is, can the Yanks win 100 games? It'll be tough but they have a legit shot at it.

This series won't determine anything, there's still far too much time left in the season to count out the Red Sox. However, this is a series they have to win. Take 2 of 3 and they won't lose any ground. Athletics are 4-6 in their last 10 and have averaged 3 runs over that stretch.

does this team really want to win the division and have to face verlander twice in a 5 game set?

Soon to be San Jose Money Ballers vs Yanks

Post#5 » by Dr. Detfink » Tue Aug 23, 2011 6:13 pm

YES. This series will determine a lot. Why you say? The Yanks have ZERO days off from today until Sept 9th...including a double header @ O's on Sat. That's also EIGHT straight road games

YES they need this series to add to their divisional lead if they HOPE (key being hope) for a snow ball's chance at the division. Meanwhile, Boston is so chill and SURE they'll win division because their injured guys are coming BACK soon.

Texas is no less Dangerous than the Tigers. As I said, there is NO Minnesota Twins to face as evidenced by last year when the Yanks suspiciously gave pitchers the day off to rest and slipped to face Twins in the first round as a wild card last year.

And apologies for the title as Yanks are at home.

Jeter is up to .294! A-rod is a scratch due to a bad thumb.

Down 0-2. Gotta give Colon some run support.

Boone Logan sucks, within 1 pitch he gives up 2 runs. I have no idea how this guys ERA isn't higher then 2.84, it seems like he gives up a run every time he takes the mound.

Cause the runners on base are from Colon....hence they're charged to Colon. THAT's why some people aren't too enthused about Boone Logan as a 6th or 7th inning guy. He's had some brilliant appearances and equally lousy appearances.

I thought Colon pitched his best since coming from the DL.

Bottom line is, the Yanks just had a miserable time hitting in order. Between Jeter and Chavez, there's a Cano hit and that's it.

Five?!?! I give him 2 seasons where he'll play 100 games. From there it's anyone's guess.

As soon as cano walked with swisher on deck, I knew this game was lost.. asking swisher to deliver a two out his... please.............
