I'm happy for Woody! Good thing he isn't in-charge of the offense. I hope the knicks are ready to switch on every pick...

Re: Mike Woodson about to be Hired by Knicks as Defensive Co
One has to wonder just how much of a "job" being the D assistant for D'Antoni is. He's had plenty before but from all accounts of his players they never actually bothered with that at practice. Perhaps with a higher profile hiring such as Woody they may actually spend some time on it but given D'Antoni's notorious stubbornness and the fact he's at the end of his contract (he's not the type to worry about getting another job either) he might just make Woody a glorified clipboard holder.
With that said there's a slight case Woody might have another HC role on his hands but most likely on an interim basis rather than an all out replacement due to ole Mr. Pringles volatility at not liking ownership/management meddling with him (he both left Phoenix and turned down the Chicago job because they tried to impose a D coordinator on him).
Either way a HC job is better suited to Woods, I developed questions over how much of a defensive mind he was considering a) he never got the Hawks above average despite plenty of pieces and b) the Detroit championship of which he is credited for was underneath a coach whose main focus has always been defense. How much of their scheme was Woody and not just him deploying Larry's?
