I still think we were underdogs going into that game.

If you notice (other) Luke was wrong as well, predicting it to be a low scoring game. ;)

Yeah, I'm a betting man. This is what it would have been like.

If it was Bears/Falcons and the Bears were "underdogs" I would have agreed and just stuck with that. Why? The Falcons and Bears were both known commodities of "pretty good." The W/L basically showed that, though Atlanta caught a few breaks.

Falcons/Packers and you call the Packers the underdogs, I would have disagreed. The W/L didn't tell the whole story there, just like Jermichael's career stats don't show the whole story. When the Packers are playing as they can, nobody in the NFL can beat them. The Falcons can't get into a mode like that. Same with Jermichael. He has some issues with injury, but when he's on, he's the best in the NFL (or close to it).

I think we are even closer than that, to be honest. It's easy to see Finley has an elite talent level... You just want to say he's an elite player because of it. I want a guy to produce an actual elite season before I give him the tag of 'elite player'.

I guess if I was using the way you thought about players, I would say that Jermaine Gresham is an elite TE, Julio Jones is an elite WR, Sam Bradford is an elite QB, Morgan Burnett is an elite S, etc.

Those guys all have the talent to be elite and at some point they probably will be. But I wouldn't call them elite until they actually do it.

I guess I just think the labels 'great', 'elite', 'superstar', etc. are all thrown around way too easily nows-a-days.

You're still missing the point here. Outside of Bradford where you can classify him as an emerging star based on some performances, have any of those guys dominated an NFL game? Jermike has dominated and been gameplanned around at least 5 to 10 times.

That's what you keep missing.

I dunno. Has Jermaine Gresham ever played with arguably the best QB in the NFL? I bet he could have put up some massive numbers last year with Rodgers as his QB.

This argument is more boring than the plot in a porno.

All I know is that if I ever order a sausage pizza, and there's even a hint of dick on it, I am not paying for that.

I cannot believe you guys are not enthralled by:

"Oh noez, I'm eighteen and I ran away from home... All I have to wear is this school girl outfit! Oh, it's a really creepy looking cop, maybe I should sex him and he'll help me!"

That's some Aaron Sorkin type ****.

I'd say this is an elite thread, but I'd like to wait to see how it performs over the next 10 years. It definitely has talent, though.

Packers rookie WR/KR Randall Cobb (knee) returned to practice on Sunday.

Jermichael Finley was absent from Packers practice on Sunday after suffering an ankle injury in Friday's preseason game.

Gurley was close to blocking two or three punts on Friday as well. Very interesting.

Man we got a lot of guys nicked up. The fact that there has been literally NO word on Neal also has me worried. They are being really secretive about that injury.

Finley and Neal probably will miss a couple more days this week and sit out the final preseason game against Kansas City. Still, at worst that would put the total days missed at 25 compared with 46 last year.

Don't know if that is indirectly saying Neal will be back for the opener or not, but lets hope so. We're going to need pass rush out of that position this year.

Jennings and Cobb return from bruised knees. Nelson and Jones sit out with... bruised knees.

I'd imagine that they are holding back Neal to prevent to possibility of reinjuring the knee coming back too soon, but hopefully he isn't chomping at the bit so bad that he hurts himself hustling like a madman once they turn him loose.
