Bleh. MM said starters will play about a half. Colts always tank the preseason. Enough already, bring on the Saints.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Re: Preseason Game 3: Pack @ Colts - 8/26/11
Starter already settled for most spots where there was competition-
LG=Lang
SS=Burnett
ROLB= Walden
Only starter to be settled is RB
I guess you could add KR - but that seems to be Green's job to fumble away
So fight is for reserve spots-
#4 S = Levine's injury re-opens door for Underwoood
#6 CB= Gordy vs Lee vs Ross
LB= All out battle
DL= With Wynn pass rushing, Guy is on PS
#9 OL = seems Schlauderaff vs ED-S maybe Dominguez
TE= All out battle
WR= IF 6th = West vs Gurley
RB= IMO its the obvious 4 - Nance & Q = no chance unless injuries
LG=Lang
SS=Burnett
ROLB= Walden

It'll be good to see TJ Lang get extended time, also Walden, and now the Grant controversy I guess. Expecting continued dominance by Burnett. With probably no Cobb, I'll be looking for Green and House to show something from the rookies. Curious to see if Sherrod is number 2 LT.

The problem is the Colts offense will be, or should be, horrendous. And they never do anything more than vanilla on offense or defense in the preseason. I like the fact that we will be on the same field as the Super Bowl, for a little bit of motivation but otherwise I just want no injuries tonight, that's it.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

I expect so as He was mostly all week in practice. At this point however I stilll expect Newhouse to be game day active #3 OT b/c he can play both sides.

Looking forward to the TE and #6 WR battles.
EDIT: Just read my post again, only a Packer fan would be "looking forward" to watching the #6 WR.

I assume Nantz and Simms will be calling this, which sucks because Gannon being fun-bad was starting to grow on me.

It's a tossup which is worse, the local coverage we usually get for preseason games or CBS coverage. Both are horrible. At least no Jesse Garcia tonight.

Re: Preseason Game 3: Pack @ Colts - 8/26/11
Tyler Dunne's 5 Things To Watch For:
Getting defensive.
Green Bay’s No. 1 defense — granted, with bits and pieces missing — has not been overly impressive this preseason. In Cleveland, Colt McCoy picked the unit apart on 71- and 66-yard touchdown drives. Against Arizona, the Cardinals had two marathon field goal drives that ate up a combined 24 plays over 14 minutes.
It’s hardly time to panic, but against a Peyton Manning-less Colts offense, the unit should deliver. Defensive coordinator Dom Capers said the first team will play three or four drives tonight. And, in reality, this could be the same exact unit that faces the New Orleans Saints in the opener. A handful of things to iso on from your recliner: Can Erik Walden lock down his starting spot at ROLB? How does Jarius Wynn respond with his opportunity? How does the relationship between Nick Collins and Morgan Burnett at safety continue to evolve?
--- A huddling offense.
The Packers’ No. 1 offense, meanwhile, has looked lights out in two hurry-up drives. Thing is, Jim Kelly, Thurman Thomas and Andre Reed aren’t around. Hard to imagine Green Bay employing a no-huddle offense all season. Against Indianapolis, Aaron Rodgers and his plethora of receivers must find a rhythm in a traditional setting.
--- Continuity on the line.
T.J. Lang ousted Derek Sherrod at left guard after the rookie was shellacked against Arizona. As a whole, though, the front five was less than stellar last week. Both Rodgers and Matt Flynn were sacked twice apiece and under siege often. Now that the coaches’ game of musical chairs is over, and Lang is entrenched at guard, let’s see if the line can keep their quarterbacks upright.
--- A look at Brandon Underwood and Davon House
. Both defensive backs will be making their preseason debuts tonight. The rookie House is competing with Jarrett Bush for the No. 4 cornerback job, while Underwood is fighting to make the team. Very interested to see how House plays. Possibly no rookie in Packers camp adapted to the speed of the game faster than House. Unfortunately, he will not be facing four-time MVP Manning, but tonight is a good test nonetheless. Underwood benefits from the concussion suffered to Anthony Levine. He'll get his reps. Once a pariah, the troubled safety convert has a reasonable chance to find a niche as a backup with a strong finish.
--- Roster battles.
Some contenders are separating themselves from the pretenders amid the pool of undrafted rookies. Mike McCarthy said the starters will not play in the second half which gives many others valuable time. More specifically, keep an eye on the outside linebackers and wide receivers. Beyond Green Bay’s top five wideouts are a slew of young guns still in the mix. Chastin West stood out last week, while Tori Gurley, Diondre Borel, Kerry Taylor and even Brett Swain all warrant consideration. Borel had the edge on Gurley before fumbling a kick return last week. With multiple blocked punts this week, Gurley is a candidate for the practice squad. At linebacker, undrafted rookies Jamari Lattimore and Vic So’oto have outperformed sixth-rounder Ricky Elmore. Two completely different builds of linebackers, both former defensive ends have adjusted well.

Has anyone heard anything about possibily trading one of them for another position need? I think I heard Van Vooran talking on TWC32 about how, I think Chastin West and someone else, were pretty quality and teams would swoop in to pick them up if they were cut. I mean, we are stacked so heavily at that position, it's ridiculous.

I'm hearing it will be Maroon 5, Lady Antebellum and Kid Rock. They are closing Oneida St. by Lambeau a WEEK before the game. I hope the weather is good, it's going to be big time fun up there that night. As long as we win the damn game.
