Re: 2011
Don't think Cleverley was "superb" today, although many seem to think he was. He made some errors in his distribution on the counter-attack and didn't seem to impact the game until everyone had a touch in the 2nd half. Welbeck was good, brilliant on the back heel to Anderson and I felt Ando had a really good 2nd half. Rooney was solid as always and Young put in another commendable performance.
Thinking about Phil Jones and his future makes me giddy as a school girl. Only 19 and he shows so much composure it's incredible. He's got great quickness and he's very comfortable pushing forward from the centre of defense.

Re: 2011
Tottenham has a problem. Van Der Vaart, Lennon, and Defoe all have **** vision. Waste of speed.
Friedel was a beast, sucks his defense let him down.
Man U doesn't look that bulletproof right now despite the score line.

Agree on all counts but Cleverley's ability to keep the ball moving with short passes and playing a rather simple version of football is just so attractive and suits our high pace right now. Anderson looks to be getting stronger by the game and De Gea is looking a little comfortable infront of home fans.
Phil Jones though, what a player! He's like Vidic with speed and adventure on the ball. Ferdinand might be feeling a little uneasy now.
He's on his way to be one of the best CBs within 2 years.

Re: 2011
I thought all United players looked great except perhaps Nani who had a mediocre game for his standards. De Gea was very impressive at distributing the ball, but still looks a little shaky.
As for Tottenham, I think they should have started Pavlyuchenko who's a bigger aerial threat than Defoe. And that Walcott moment by Lennon was just terrible lol. VDV looked like he wanted to kill him.

Always thought Jones can be the English version of Pique, this performance further proved it. Maybe with more physicality than finesse.

Re: 2011
Rajkovic denied work permit, Chelsea pretty much have no choice but to sell him.

Kind of disappointed, was looking forward to him playing some games for us this year.

I finally watched the games I DVRed and all can say is Phil Jones is a boss. He's so quick and powerful going forward and he was solid at the back. The real test will come against the strikers City, Chelsea, and Liverpool throw at him.

They could get a lot of money for that, but without risking the obvious backlash they would receive if they offered up naming rights for Old Trafford. Could prove to be a very good piece of business.

Re: 2011
"Three or four years ago I had two jerseys of Didier Drogba, one to sleep in and one to wear in the street when I was playing with my friends,'' he said. "I had a poster above my bed of Didier and a poster on my right side of Nicolas Anelka.
"I always wore the same boots as Didier. They were Nike, but when I signed my contract with Adidas I changed! I'd watch Chelsea train on Chelsea TV. No-one else would do that. People called me crazy, my mum called me crazy.
"I'm sure Drogba and I could form an effective partnership. In training it works all the time,'' he said. "If you work in function with your partner, it can always work. You need to listen to each other.
"He's like my big brother, I tell him that. I say to him every day that he has to stay. He has to stay for me. If I can play for two more years he can prepare me for the big job. I know he wants to stay.
"We had the same style of play and movement and also hair. Now to be with him is like 'wow!'. Didier came into the dressing room and I thought 'oh my god'.''

Here's to hoping that De Gea will manage to have a few more nervous games whilst Cech is out.

Re: 2011
Chelsea team for Norwich: Hilario, Bosingwa, Ivanovic, Terry, Cole, Mikel, Ramires, Lampard, Malouda, Torres, Drogba.
Torres-Drogba partnership + no Kalou + possible Mata/Lukaku/Romeu appearance. Really looking to this game.
