Open starts Sunday, but could be affected by Irene.

Picks, anyone?

Hows Djokovic's injury looking? (it might be nothing, i havent really followed anything since i heard he retired from that match).

Will Murray make it another grand slam finals loss?

Has Nadal/Federer still got it?

Anyone else? Roddick?

womens... meh

Venus looked good in her game today. Very few unforced errors and she looked to be cruising.

I hope Roger.
But a healthy Novak is the favorite.
This year Novak is at the same level with Roger and Rafa at their best.

(But Nadal playing poorly still breadsticked Djokovic in the wimbledon final...., and Federer is having his worst year since 2002 and still beat Djokovic at roland garros....

Anyway I think Federer vs Nadal final is on the cards, unless Tsonga gets hot vs Federer again, but don't forget that Federer won the first 2 sets vs Tsonga at wimbledon so I wouldn't be surprised if Federer beats Tsonga in straight sets here. Nadal over Federer in the final, and that would mean Federer is the first player in tennis history to lose to the same player in the final of all 4 of the grand slams)

Bullzilla, I have no idea how you can come back from Wimbledon knocking Djokovic. You spent the entire tournament explaining to us with pathological confidence why Nadal simply could not lose, and then when the tournament played out like the rest of the world expect, you were silent.

I tell you what. It's of course nothing knew to lament the state of the women's game, but 2011 is now officially a new low. I didn't think it could get worse than 2004, but at this point it would seem that unless someone emerges in this tournament other than Serena, we'll have the least deserving Player of the Year that I can ever remember in either gender.

Roddick played a very Roddick-like game, making an easy opponent look tougher than he was. That 3rd set was pure garbage.

For some reason I can only watch tennis while sober so I've abstained today.I wonder if Lisicki can capitalize on extra rest given that she was playing tennis 24 hours a day during Wimbledon.

Yeah whatever.
You know Nadal(because you act) will never be Greater than Federer and he will never touch people like Federer and he will never be skilled as Federer.
And don't forget that he will never catch Roger's Slams.
Roger is out of his prime but still he can win 1-2 Slams the next 2 years. And I hope he will.

Djokovic will be better than Nadal. At least he has the potential.

Just read somewhere that Venus withdrew from the US open. An already watered down fields gets worse.

(LOL.....Djokovic, he has only 3 slams, and is already age 24, and he plays some of the most exhausting tennis on tour, and what if Nadal figures him out this year/next year? What then? Federer already beats Djokovic in slams. Can't see Djokovic even sniffing 8 slams personally, and maybe not 6 either.

Who cares about who somebody thinks is better? There are people who think Laver is better. It doesn't matter because nobody can ever prove who is better. Nobody can even prove how strong an era is.

All I care about is Nadal getting 16+ slams. And he will, you'll see. And when he does, fair or not, people will look at the head2head to separate them. And if Nadal beats Federer at the US Open, the ownership will reach a level of epic proportions. Federer, the first man ever to lose to the same man in all 4 grand slam finals. Surreal :o)

Way to dodge the issue which is: Your continuing your exact same narrative without any acknowledgement of how glaringly wrong you were before.

I mean, you can say what you want dude, but if you want people to listen to you there are some basic communication rules you gotta follow.

Sharapova gone.

So for those keeping score at home, none of the winners of the first 3 slams get past the 1st round of the US open, and only 1 of the finalist has a chance to get past the 3rd round.

Truly, the game has hit a new low. I continue to have faith that this is largely just bad luck, but damn, if you had told me in 2004 that things would be even worse in 2011 I might have cried.

Thank god for the men's game being the best it's been in 30 years (if not ever).

Wow that Jack Sock Kid is one of the more promising American players I have seen in a while. Strong Serve and forehand and looks to be good at the net and willing to go there. Also Most hilarious name ever.

I think if he was half as consistent as he could be, he could have beaten Roddick or atleast given a much tougher test. Its hilarious how far down the baseline Roddick goes to once he faces a strong hitter.

One of the players I like a lot, Ferrero has slugged it out to the 4th round. Hoping gets an upset win somewhere.
