8 team leagues are so shallow that pretty much all the teams are going to be at least pretty good, it's not all that exciting a way to play unless the benches are super deep because if someone goes down, there's still really good players to take their place.

I'd be curious to know who are the best available free agents following the draft. Assuming your team is average for that shallow a league, I'm betting there are guys that would start in many leagues still available for pick up.

10-12 team is pretty standard, 14 team or deeper if you're brave.

Having said all that, I think if you have a week spot it's probably WR3 (S. Johnson) and maybe TE.
If it were me, I'd package both Johnson's (Stevie & Chris) along with Winslow for a package for guys I liked better at 2 of the 3 positions and take a hit on the 3rd. With a league that shallow, a 3 for 2 deal could net you something pretty good. I'm not a big S. Greene fan either, so I'd probably look to move him as well.

Would appreciate any thoughts you have on my team in another thread.
*Keep in mind that I've got 10-12-14 team leagues listed rather than this shallow 8 team setup you have here.

I agree, with B2B you are need to upgrade the #3 WR. S. Johnson isnt going to be a very consistent option.

Do you guys think it would be a good trade to trade Santonio Holmes and Shonn Greene for Hakeem Nicks?

Why cant Holmes be better than NIcks? Greene is a lot of juice just to have a slightly higher RB. The name of the game in trades is to consolidate to get the better quality players, and be smart and strategic about how you find and manage the depth. Plus doesn't Nicks play for the Giants? You really think Eli is that dependable? Meh.

I'd only do it if you were thin at RB and in a non PPR league. Nicks is gonna blow up this year but Holmes should be solid and Greene should come of age.
