He's the captain of the national team that' doing very well so I guess he's in a good position to release this book at this time. Coincidentally another full back Gary Neville is also releasing his autobiography on Sept 1st, which is believed to be equally explosive.

I think he might take a good dig or two at the expense of Sven Eriksson.

I always wondered why footballers write autobiographies while they are so young though. I mean Walcott released one when he was 18 I guess.

Rosicky would probably just end up like Hleb and Camoranesi did in Stuttgart.

In all honesty he should just build a team with young, talented players. Those 30+ players will secure Wolfsburg a spot in the middle of the table while being paid way too much.

That whole Lahm situation is, imho, lots of noise for nothing.

If he had some explosive stuff to release, it'd have leaked already. If he could say that Mertesacker and Friedrich had an affair in South Africa, Jerome Boateng is actually white, just really good with the make up or Jogi Löw had three hookers in his room every night, it would be interesting.
But revealing that Klinsmann is not a good tactician, that Magath is a one trick pony or that Völler never was or never will be a good coach... well, I guess even Weizen-Waldi after 23:15 on his eight beer knows that. (uh... on second thought, let's just not go there)

I don't think there's been any damage done so far, at least concerning the national team. But Lahm's connections to Axel Springer and his obvious willingness to use them cast him in a bad light. I hope Jogi tells him, in public if he has to, that if just one thing leaks to the BILD, and if it's just the probable line up of the upcoming qualifier against Kazakhstan, he'll spend the prime of his career at home and can watch 2012 and 2014 on TV.
Löw has, at least theoretically, the power to do that. Loosing Lahm would hurt on the pitch, but the difference between him and Aogo or Boateng isn't that big that Löw would have to take this $hit.
Likewise with the BILD. They just can't oppose a successful, popular, young national team anymore. Lahm is their last bridgehead in the DFB, nobody other than him on the current team even talks to them. The Dortmund block has a well known grudge against the BILD, the Spaniards couldn't care less, Schweinsteiger hates them... that leaves the rest of the Bayern. As far as I know, neither Neuer, nor Müller, Boateng or Badstuber have some special connection to Axel Springer. They just can't get into an open campaign against the DFB and I guess they know it. It'd be really surprised if there's anything dirty in this book concerning the 2008/10 teams or Löw. Both Lahm and especially BILD can only loose in that fight.

Wolfsburg just sucks. Hamburg is dumb, which is way more dangerous.
Suck can be fixed but no one has ever found a cure for stupidity.

Another good win by Munich, although I thought the second penalty was a pretty weak call. Gomez seems to have his groove back.

Great game between Dortmund and Bayer, was happy ended in a draw. Bayer's golie totally saved them the whole game. the Gotze red card, should have been a yellow though.

As a Kaiserslautern fan, I have a bad feeling about this season. After the losses of Lakic and Moravek, we lack individual quality, and do not compensate it by collectively gritting our teeth. The uber stupid red card by Ilicevic pretty much sums it up.

BTW, Bayern is #1 again, it went faster than anyone thought. Some odd teams are on top: only a few expected Mainz, Bremen and Gladbach that far up - Wolfsburg and HSV have disappointed. Bayern seems to have regained their ability to keep a clean sheet - the new defense of Boateng, Van Buyten (not Rafinha), Badstuber, Lahm hardly lets anything through.

Edit: in our late night soccer show (Aktuelle Sportstudio), they analysed the game of Gomez. He hardly got the ball (only 32x) but sprinted a lot off the ball, used his header skills on O and D and worked hard for his 3 goals. Gomez still is an average "back to the goal" striker, and Müller is still a better "find the gap" striker, but if he is hot, he is HOT. He also has a pretty good work ethic and hardly mopes around - not the worst things for a Bayern player.

PS: after just 4 games, the only team never to have lost is Hannover. In our league, everybody can beat anybody, and that is good

Yah, I'm loving Bayern's D, I know the competition hasn't been top notch, but they have been very impressive. Only issue with that might be Neur hasn't been really tested and I hope he's not rusty when he actually does need to make some saves.

If Robben and Ribery can stay healthy, I think Gomez will be more than good enough as the only striker. Can't wait for the game against Man City, it should be really good.

That's why I love the Bundesliga, anything can happen and anyone(almost) could win the league on any given year. I hope it stays this way, as long as Bayern can win the CL, it's alright if they don't win the league.

HSV basically trades Elia (to Juve) for Ilicevic (from FCK), plus a large wad of Italian cash.

As a FCK fan, I can now GUARANTEE that Ilicevic becomes a superstar. He have a history of selling promising talent for cheap and then getting bitten in the a** for it (Ballack, Lincoln, Weidenfeller, Klose, Wiese etc.). But then, Ivo has not been the same after Bayern wanted to buy him last year...

Expectedly, a very disappointing day for a Bundesliga fan. Nothing big happened. Not even a single at least average international player got transfered to the Bundesliga. Very disappointing. Can't count Hleb here. :lol:

Markus Miller, reserve GK of Hannover 96, has checked himself into rehab b/c of burnout syndrome and depression

Glad he did it, the VERY LAST thing 96 need is another GK who commits suicide...
