Stupid Spurs!!!!

Why the hell you are asking £12 million for Gio!?!? You bought him for £5 million and left him to rot on the reserves bench and now his value increased?? ***** Bull****!! I hope Gio get the hell out of there in January.

And rejecting £40 million offer for Modric is worse!

Both of these players want OUT! They do not want to play there.

Arsenal brought in a few good players. Certainly missing that marquee signing (Hazard, Gotze, M'Vila) that many of us were hoping for, just seems that none of those teams were looking to sell this year. Maybe January or next summer, unless we're priced out by then.

I like both the defensive additions, and I like Arteta. Don't know much about Young. We needed a big player in midfield, and a quality striker, imo. Not looking forward to the ACON when Song, Chamakh, Gervinho, and possibly Frimpong, are all gone.

What's so wrong about rejecting an offer for your best player? Arsenal did so years in a row with Fabregas. They can still sell him next season.

Modric already made it known that he wanted to play for Chelsea and wanted out from Tottenham. And they did not sell him to them despite a strong bid offer from Chelsea.

Now, you have a player that did not get sold to the team of his choice and now he is stuck to a team that he does not want to play for. You see what we have here? A disgruntled player. Things can get ugly if this situation does not get handled the right way.

Modric wants to play for a team (Chelsea) that participates in the Champions League regularly every year. If you read between the lines from his quotes, he basically said Tottenham is not good enough to qualify the CL every year.

He'll probably end up at City or United with Hazard for 100 Mil. :x

I'm glad we got rid of Eboue, Denilson, Clichy though.

Doesn't matter. Modric is a pro and if Tottenham doesn't want to sell him he's gotta accept it and continue to play for them. He signed a contract there, so he knew that he could have to play his for his full contract there. I hate this whining by players that get paid millions every year.

Very happy with this deadline day for Chelsea, fair enough we didn't get Modric or manage to offload Kalou. But Kakuta and PVA going out on loan where they can get some games, not buying Pereira and getting Meireles for £12 million certainly is a huge plus, especially since I'm a massive fan of Raul

Raul Meireles doesn't possess the creativity that Modric does obviously and it would have been exciting to see what Modric could have done with so many more weapons on his squad than what he normally plays with but I'm really happy to see just how many contingency plans were in place for Chelsea. Couldn't be more impressed with management. A list of needs was created and Chelsea's early matches seemed to suggest that those needs were legit. They then went out to correct not only those needs but also inject youth into the team. Everytime somebody held firm against them during negotiations they made another call from that list. They did everything they could to improve and zoned in on players that wanted to play at the Bridge. You can't ask for more than that as a supporter.

In my opinion, the best thing about Raul Is that he and Lampard should both be able to split some time, leaving both fresher, more active and able to get back and defend when called upon later on. He's also got a great shot and he isn't afraid to show it off if given the chance and I'm sure he will with all the new space that's hopefully going to be created now that the window's closed and AVB can focus on working with what he's got and not what he wants.

I agree, but it's clear that this saga has only been hurting Tottenham just like Berbatov one did. The players and the manager have been complaining about this whole situation and Levy really should have taken the money this time. Modric is a great player but he's not worth 40M.

^^ Agreed. At least Chelsea have acted with a bit more class than Barcelona. But, the media will most likely be bringing it up and be asking questions about his commitment and such all season long.

Same, really hope we shift back to the 4-3-3 and start Sturridge down the right and Mata on the left. Them two would cause quite the trouble, especially since both are capable of switching sides and playing on the opposite side.

Absolutely.

I agree that any player under contract for a team should honor their contract. It was Modric that agreed to terms to play for Tottenham.

Unless you are Giovanni dos Santos haha. This guy has been poorly misused by Harry. I went on every popular Mexican-soccer websites and everyone was fuming against Tottenham and Harry when he decided not to let Gio out.

Gio's ego is what's done him in so far, not Spurs and not Redknapp. If he didn't think he was **** Pele he might have developed over the past few years.

Gio has played for Galatasaray half season and I watched him in our stadium. he is a fair player. To be honest, he doesn't have that talent he can carry a team on his shoulders but he can def. be a good, solid player in any team.
