GM a Team - We're bored edition - Approvals

Post#1 » by babyjax13 » Tue Aug 30, 2011 6:31 pm

This is how approvals will work...

Trade 1 is approved. Update your rosters or you'll regret it.

I will be approving in exact numerical order with exception to trades I make...someone else will have to be willing to do that for me (please only volunteer in the discussion thread).

Trade #1

Cleveland and New York have a trade to announce.

Cleveland In: Chauncey Billups ($14,200,000), Ronny Turiaf ($4,630,000), Landry Fields ($473,604), Iman Shumpert ($1,343,300) = $20,962,172

New York In: Baron Davis ($13,950,000), Anderson Varejao ($7,700,000), Omri Casspi ($1,341,960), Christian Eyenga ($1,097,520), Joey Graham ($1,106,941) = $25,196,421

Why for CLE:
We upgrade Baron to Chauncey, get an expiring for Varejao and two young players in Fields and Shumpert.

Trade Approved. Please update rosters.

Trade 3
Charlotte & Houston Agree to Trade
The Charlotte Bobcats moved PF J D White to the Houston Rockets in exchange for Terrence Williams. Houston was looking to improve it's post presence and White offers a nice mid range game and rebounding. The Rockets give up on the T Will experience.

JD White - $2,001,167 to Houston - Terrence Williams - $ $2,369,040 - Salaries work.

Trade approved. Please update rosters.

Charlotte and Toronto have agreed to a trade.

Charlotte Sends: DJ Augustin $3,236,470, Tyrus Thomas $7,305,785
Toronto Sends: Amir Johnson $5,500,000, James Johnson $1,833,120

10 542 255 - 7 333 120 = 3 209 135

Toronto is under the cap by over $12 million, so salaries work.
The Raptors really like Augustin's fit with DeRozan and Thomas' fit with Bargnani in the second unit, we feel it makes us a much more balanced team than we were.

Trade approved - update rosters

This trade is no longer approved. I want to thank the Cleveland GM for notifying me that he had used the Rashard Lewis clause on Davis, I would not have caught that. I was going to let this slide, but I feel that it would undermine the rules of the game. I apologize for the inconvenience, but I want to encourage the two of you to work out a new deal and re-post.

4. New Jersey and Portland have agreed on a blockbuster

Deron Williams ($16,359,805) x 1.25 = $20,449,756

for

LaMarcus Aldridge ($12,372,000) and Wes Matthews ($6,135,160) = $18,507,160

NJ does this to get a stud PF and a great role-playing SG on great contracts. We were worried about losing Deron next year, so getting two core pieces locked into long term deals is nice

Trade approved.

Trade #5 GS and OKL

GS Trades
G Monta Ellis 11,000,000
For

OKL
2012 #1 pick Lotto Protected.
SG James Harden 4.600,000
C Cole Aldrich 2.460,000
James Vaden .788
Royal Ivey 1.288
Tot 9,136,000 x 1.25 = 11.420,000>11,000,000 Deal Works

The Oklahoma backcourt now gets ultra athletic. Westbrook has the size and skills to play the 2 and the Tunder adds another dangerous scorer who can fit this young roster. We feel with a better roster and less minutes Monta can be an explosive yet efficient player again as the number 3 option.

Trade approved, thank you for working out the math.

TRADE #9

Upon approval of trades 5 and 7, Golden State and LAC have a trade.

LAC in / GS out:
Stephen Curry - $3,117,120
Cole Aldrich - $2,286,000
Total salaries - $5,403,120

GS in / LAC out:
Kevin Love - $4,609,701
Eric Bledsoe - $1,596,360
Total salaries - $6,206,061

Golden State accepts. Never thought I'd trade Curry in this game, but Love is one of the few young players I like even better.

Trade approved, please update your rosters.

Trade #8

MIA sends:
Dwyane Wade ($15,691,000)
Udonis Haslem ($3,780,000)

SAC send:
Marcus Thornton ($4,000,000, 4 years S^T w/ ETO and PO the last two years, respectively)
Tyreke Evans ($4,151,640)
Demarcus Cousins ($3,627,720)
J.J. Hickson ($2,354,537)
Donte Greene ($1,679,914)

Total<Wade + Haslem and SAC has plenty of cap space. Trade works! Good dealing, SAC We bolster up with great center in DMC and we know Evans/Thornton would replace Wade well with LBJ running the team.

Please, next time you post a trade don't update your salaries until it's approved and work out the salaries; it makes it difficult for me to approve trades in a timely manner when I have to search through several threads.

The LA Clippers, Minnesota Timberwolves and the Milwaukee Bucks would like to announce a deal with a sign and trade with DeAndre Jordan(5 years 45 mil):
The Clippers receive:
Kevin Love $3,831,184
Wesley Johnson $4,006,080
UTA 2012 1st(lottery protected)
MEM 2012 1st
Total: $7,837,264
The Timberwolves receive:
Eric Gordon $3,831,184
Andrew Bogut $12,000,000
Total: $15,831,184
The Wolves have the capspace for this deal to work
The Bucks receive:
DeAndre Jordan $9,000,000
Rande Foye $4,000,000
2012 MIN unprotected 1st
Total: $13,000,000

This trade is great as I get an awesome young star in Love and a solid wing player in Wes Johnson

Next time please work out the math :)

Trade 10#

DEN and HOU have a trade to announce.

DEN outgoing:
Andre Miller $7,807,728
Danilo Gallinari $4,190,182
Timofey Mozgov $3,343,896
Kenneth Faried $1,072,900
Jordan Hamilton $922,400
DEN 2012 1st (unprotected)
total: $17,337,106

HOU outgoing:
Kevin Martin - $11,519,840
Luis Scola - $8,591,793
Jonny Flynn - $3,414,720
total; $23,526,353

It works since I am comfortably under the cap.

Kevin Martin is a 24 ppg scorer who is still only 27 years old on a good contract. He makes up the scoring we lost when Melo left town. Scola is 18/8/3 on solid man defense, good offensive bigs are hard to find these days
Approved, update rosters.

Trade #11

MIA sends:

Mario Chalmers (S&T $2,200,000, 3 yrs, PO on 3rd year)
J.J. Hickson ($2,354,537)
Mike Miller ($5,400,000)

Total: $9,954,537

ORL sends:
Jameer Nelson($7,800,000)
Quentin Richardson($2,446,200)

Total: $10,246,200 < 1.25*9,954,537

Salaries work! We don't like losing Hickson because he's so athletic, but gaining Jameer, leader and pretty good PG who can shoot, we like that and we like cutting Miller's contract down to Quentin's.

Thank you for doing the math, this is exactly what I want to see. Approved.

Trade # 12

MIA sends:
Tyreke Evans ($4,151,640)
QRich ($2,446,200)
Joel Anthony ($3,300,000)

Total: $9,897,840

DEN sends:
Kevin Martin ($11,519,840)

$9,897,840*1.25+$100,000 = $12,472,300.00 > $11,519,840. Monies work. We do this to have a better 3pt shooter to compliment LBJ. Also, w/ Thornton we have plenty of depth at SG and we recently acquired Jameer, so there was a bit of a logjam at PG (sorta). We also shed some contracts :). Great dealing DEN!

Approved, update rosters, please.

DEN and LAL have a trade to announce.

DEN outgoing:
Luis Scola $8,591,793
Chris Andersen $4,533,300
Ty Lawson $1,654,440
2012 GS 2nd
2013 GS 2nd
total: $14,779,533

LAL outgoing:
Pau Gasol $18,714,150

Pau is 19/10/3 and 1.7 blocks, he is in the prime of his career. He makes us a playoff team and maybe a contender after a few more moves.

Approved, update rosters, please.

14#

DEN and OKC have a trade to announce.

DEN outgoing:
Pau Gasol $18,714,150
Kosta Koufos $2,203,792
DEN 2013 2nd
total: $20,917,942

OKC outgoing:
Monta Ellis $11,000,000
Kendrick Perkins $7,373,626
Nick Collison $3,272,997
total: $21,646,623

We get a 2nd star to pair with Tyreke Evans in Monta Ellis. Ellis and Reke will wreck opposing backcourts, and we get a big defensive anchor in Perkins. He has championship experience and can anchor our defense. He is also quite young. Our starting 5 is young and can compete now.

Approved. Please update your rosters.

#6: CHA and PHX have a trade to announce:

TO PHX:
Boris Diaw ($9,000,000)

Total: 9,000,000

TO CHA:
Mickael Pietrus ($5,300,000)
Robin Lopez ($2,862,602)

Total: 8,162,602 * 1.25 + 100,000 = 10,303,253

Deal works.

Charlotte accepts. We save a bit of instant money (about 850,000) which is good, and also get a great prospect in Lopez. Lopez is a big 7'0 tall C that we need, because the only other future bigs on my team are 6'9. Pietrus is just a smaller exp, so I don't have to take on much long term salary.

Sorry for skipping over this, you can see why I was trying to do it numerically :) Trade approved.

BOS and PHX have a trade to announce.

BOS outgoing:

Ray Allen $10,000,000

PHX outgoing

Boris Diaw $9,000,000
2012 1st

Boston, you need to update your roster with total salaries, draft picks, a depth chart, etc. This is the only warning you get, next time your trade won't be approved.

Trade approved, update your rosters.

The New Jersey Nets and Boston Celtics have agreed to the following:

Celtics sends:

Rajon Rondo 11,000,000

Nets send:

Brook Lopez: 3,076,983
Jordan Farmar: 4,000,000
NJ 2012 1st Round Pick
NJ has cap
Total: 7,076,983

Total rebuild in Boston. Lopez is a nice building block and we get an additional pick.

Boston, look at the first page of the discussion thread or the first post of the roster topic for how to format your roster page. This trade is not approved because of issues with your roster - get it updated and repost this trade.

Trade #15 (B..I guess :) )

Houston & NJ Nets Trade Announced

The Houston Rockets have traded SF Danilo Gallinari ($4,190,182) to the New Jersey for the Nets recently acquired SG Wes Matthews ($6,135,160). Houston has about $10M in capspace and can absorb the difference in salaries. The Knicks also returned the full interest in Houston's 2012 1st round pick.

Houston hated losing Gallo in this move but felt there were more SF prospects to be found than players who have shown the development on both ends of the court as Wes Matthews.

Trade Approved.

#18

MIA sends:
Jameer Nelson $7,800,000
Kevin Martin $11,519,840
Total:$19,319,840

HOU sends:
Andre Miller - $7,807,728 (TO) N/A
Marcus Morris - $1,566,900
Chuck Hayes - $4,000,000
Courtney Lee - $2,225,093
HOU 2012 1st

Total: 15,599,721

HOU has 11M in cap space, so he can absorb the extra salary. We do this because we get young depth and a good vet in andre. we also get a draft pick! martin's 3 will be missed greatly, but we hope thornton can step it up. Good Dealing, HOU.

I guess I have to apologize again, Hayes was just resigned and so you must wait a week to trade him. I am sending out an email to ensure that everyone knows this, people must have browsed over it in the free agency thread.
