Not liking that RB group at all unless McFadden gets hurt, which he probably will. Who is your TE?

I did a 10 team draft last night:

QB: Philip Rivers/Sam Bradford
RB: Jamaal Charles/LeGarrette Blount/DeAngelo Williams/Shonn Greene/Ben Tate(late homer pick!)
WR: Roddy White/Dez Bryant/Brandon Marshall/Steve Johnson/Julio Jones
TE: Antonio Gates
K: Jason Hanson
DEF: Detroit Lions

I feel pretty good about my team overall I suppose.

You suppose? Sweet Jesus.

Which of Rivers, Charles, Blount, Williams, Greene, White, Bryant, Marshall, or Gates fell to the 9th round? That's insane. Steve Johnson in the 10th, I'm guessing? Holy crap.

I had the 6th pick overall and grabbed Charles first, then Roddy in the 2nd round(wanted Andre but my brother was able to grab him first, that bastard). I took Rivers in the 3rd round, much sooner than I wanted to draft a QB because all of my idiot friends started drafting QB's and defenses in the first couple rounds(the guy right before my Rivers selection took Eli...).

Anyways, I couldn't believe they were all taking QB's and defenses that early. I got Williams in the 9th, Marshall in the 10th, had to grab Tate so I had at least one Texan(who I also think has potential to kick some ass if he gets a chance) and Julio Jones late in the draft when they were still there before I grabbed my defense and my kicker with my last two picks.

Tits...

Second to last. Kickers last. I'm always happy to see someone take the Steelers' or Jets' defense in round 7 (and I'm a Steelers' fan) -- means one more rotation RB/WR to choose from.

the guy is offering nicks for desean jackson?

should i make that trade (nicks was taken in 2nd, d jackson was in the 4th)....or should i continue to shop him for a rb (like gore, blount, beanie)...or expand the trade to include wayne and scoop up a RB in that trade while keeping proposed nicks for jack swap

I'd take Nicks for Jackson in a heartbeat, then trade Bowe for a RB (he's going to fall waaaay back to earth this year). If you can do a Jackson/Bowe for Nicks/RB trade in one shot, go for it.

An aside, if I were you, I'd drop Kolb for Delone Carter. With Manning's injury, the Colts will be running more, and with Addai's injury history you'd better have his backup. Rodgers doesn't need a backup, and if you do need someone, there will be a Kolb or equivalent on the waiver wire for you then.

i appreciated the help

im not happy how the team is

but i looked at the other teams and they are very spread out

this league has 3 WR and one w/r spot, so the talent is spread, i figure i might as well give it my best shot even thou i wasnt there for the draft

Blount is definitely a guy I'd target. Top 10 potential.

Don't do anything with Wayne -- he's fine as your #2 WR for now if you get Nicks (who'd be your #1). The more credible places I've seen today are saying 4-5 weeks tops on Manning being out. If you trade Wayne now, you're selling low; no one's giving you anything for him. If you can get full value, then sure, but I highly doubt you will.

I had the 12th overall pick.

1. Darren McFadden

6. Tim Hightower
7. Jimmy Graham

I've got to say, I'm not a big fan of your team overall, you have some bright spots, but you reached for players far too often.

You've got an unusual roster setup with the 2 flex positions that include TE availability.

By round 7 you'd drafted a QB and 2 TE, which made your WR & RB fairly weak.
And of the guys you selected in the early rounds, I would have waited or avoided some of them all together.
McFadden - as likely to be a one-hit wonder as a 1st round talent
Wayne - clearly seems to be regressing, and Manning has some health issues
Finley - has trouble staying healthy, hasn't finished a season playing all 16 games yet
Hightower - Washington is a mess in general, and Shannahan seems to take a special pleasure in screwing with fantasy football owners

Having said that, I think some of your late picks have some real homerun potential
(Tate, Benn, B. Gibson)

I like both your DST picks, but don't understand why you took 2 in a 12 team league unless it was required

You reached too often on your early picks, but could make up for it if you hit on some of your late round choices

I pretty much always pick for upside no matter where I wind up and I targeted basically everyone on my team save Schaub who I still like a lot and figured would be a rock at QB even if doesn't go back to form from 2 seasons ago when he was the #1 QB in this format.

I honestly don't feel like I reached if I took anyone early on paper it's pretty much cause I was at a point in the snake where even if I'm taking them 10 to 20 picks early they're pretty much never making it back to me.

I don't see how Wayne is clearly regressing either, he had a monster PPR season last year and although Manning is an obvious concern and while I don't put much stock into preseason this is a guy who put up a 100+ yard TD game in a half with a scrub at QB.

Calvin Johnson will be the clear cut #1 WR in fantasy if Stafford stays healthy.

Finley and McFadden are legitimate concerns cause of injuries but they have enormous upside.
If McFadden stays healthy he's a top 5 RB in PPR.

Jimmy Graham is going to be a monster this year book it, he'll put up top WR2 #'s from the TE position.

Hightower is probably a reach but if he holds onto the starting job you could easily be looking at a top 10 RB this year and there weren't a lot of options left at RB or with that much upside at any position who wouldn't have been even bigger reaches at that point.

I don't love my Crabtree pick in hindsight much either, but you never know with him, he could wind up putting up a 1000+ yard 7 to 10 TD year.

I took 2 defenses cause our bench is so deep in this league and I really liked both of those D's. We get return yards and bonus points on D, they're a little more valuable in this league and honestly if I need to drop someone during the season they're easier to let go of.

Eh, I loved my draft for the most part, but I agree, I have a risky team.

I always have a risky team though and I'm usually really good with my high upside picks, I was in so many leagues last year just for draft practice in which I barely paid attention to the waiver wire in a lot of them and just made sure to set my lineup weekly out of respect for the others in the league and I won literally 8 out of 12 of my leagues, lost in the Bowl game in 2 of them, including taking down my two long running friends leagues and my only money league.

The two leagues I did nothing in were my only regular random public leagues.

10 team auction league. Could keep up to 3 players, with a penalty added to last year's value. Ended up with:

QB - Roethlisberger
RB - Rice / McCoy / Blount / Lynch / D. Thomas / Tate
WR - C. Johnson / V. Jackson / Boldin / Knox / Roberts
TE - Graham
DST - Pats
K - Gostkowski

Since we start 2 RBs, 2 WRs and a flex, I'm feeling pretty stacked. Clear 5 starters every week with a few upside picks waiting on the bench.

Damn your top 3 RB's and top 2 WR's, plus your TE and QB are ridiculous.

I did a 14-team league last night(same league I won the last two years in a row, but we always did 12 teams until this year). I am not happy with my team at all outside of a couple guys, but the options were pretty thin every time I got a chance to pick due to the amount of teams. All of the guys I was targeting were taken a few picks ahead of me every round so I had to improvise a lot! We start 2 RB's and 3 WR's with one flex in this league, and it also counts return TD's:

QB: Tony Romo/Ryan Fitzpatrick
RB: Jamaal Charles/Jahvid Best/Brandon Jacobs/Ben Tate/Deji Karim
WR: Mike Wallace/Malcolm Floyd/Plaxico Burress/Jacoby Ford/Emmanuel Sanders
WR/RB: Dexter McCluster
TE: Jimmy Graham
K: Billy Cundiff
DEF: Dallas

I don't like my RB's or WR's outside of Charles and Wallace, though I suppose there is some potential in there with some of those guys. Could be worse though I guess, with so many teams none of them are really stacked at all but I would have liked to have gotten a more solid RB2/WR2. Oh well.

We had a late draft this year. Once again, I picked near the end (7th out of 10).

Starters:

QB - Vick
WR - Greg Jennings
WR - DeSean Jackson
WR - Jacoby Ford
RB - Darren McFadden
RB - Cedric Benson
TE - Brandon Pettigrew
K - Josh Brown
DEF - San Diego

Bench:

WR - Steve Smith
TE - Greg Olsen
RB - Mike Tolbert
RB - Jahvid Best
WR - Mike Williams (Seattle)
QB - Cam Newton (last round pick)

Fairly pleased. Still thinking about a way to grab Calvin Johnson (he was taken one pick before me). Also thinking taking Tolbert was a mistake (5th round, thanks to me looking at Yahoo rankings for a minute instead of my own) but I'm hoping I can sell him high. I grabbed Benson in the 6th or 7th round (after Tolbert) so I'm happy about that.

Jacoby Ford slipped to the 14th round and I swiftly picked him up. Overall, pretty happy about how things went and I won't have to make 3-5 moves to start the season.
