Derek Anderson - drug ring?

In interviews, Cunningham's claims even go as far to try and implicate former University of Kentucky and pro basketball player Derek Anderson as being involved in some way in the drug running cash flow.

Butler: "Was Derek Anderson ever present when you all bought narcotics?"
Cunningham: "Nah, he stays away from you know, he's just the money and he's not going to get around any of it but, that's who funnels the money."

Anderson has never been charged with a crime in this investigation. His name has only come up in statements Cunningham gave police.

this is rather shocking. not sure if this is just some dude trying to throw people under the bus or if anderson really is involved in providing money for a cocaine operation. anderson always seemed smarter than the average player. rick bonnell even went so far as to claim anderson was the smartest charlotte player (bobcats and hornets) that he ever covered. many of us frequently talked about how anderson would be an ideal coach some day.

then again, stringer bell was a smart dude as well and look what he was up to.

Well if they can get the evidence, then he's likely toast. I hope for his sake that this guy was just running his mouth and it is not true. But if it was to be true, then his room for the next 20 years will likely be smaller than his walk in closet.

If I were an NBA player who made millions of dollars, the first thing I would do is start an illegal cocaine trafficking business for extra cash.

Seriously though, if this is true what the hell is wrong with people. They don't deserve to be fortunate enough to make all of that money only to become criminals with it.

^^^^

Yeah it's quite funny that rich people are only trying to get richer as opposed to the usual poor person trying to strike it rich.
