I shudder to think about when RVP is injured this year. Chamakh or Young? :(

I think Park might surprise. His fee was so small because he's off to the SK military soon.

And he was on the last year of his deal, I hear, but I'm certainly not confident of him leading the line. We'll see though, I hear good things about him, but I've never seen him play.

Well, at least we've got deals done and players in. I'm very happy with the backline additions; seriously, watch some clips of Santos on YouTube, he looks to have outstanding attacking skills. The midfield additions are solid, but with so many younger, sexier names being thrown about this summer, kind of disappointing. Here's to hoping we can add just one of those names in January: Hazard, M'Vila, Gotze, Agusto, Dzagoev.

M'Vila might be available in January, but I doubt Gotze or Hazard will be. Unless Lille dramatically bombs in the CL and Ligue.

The midday talk about Renato Augusto got me really excited too, but that's why I hate silly season. And the Mirror.

He could be decent in a SS role or deep-lying forward type role more so than as a central striker. Koreans wanted him to be that goal scoring striker for so long but when he underwhelmed in that role, everyone soured on him.

One thing he lacks is strength though. He gets knocked off the ball too easily from all the SKNT matches I've seen. Hopefully he's improved some since the 2010 World Cup.

JackWilshere Jack Wilshere
I can confirm I will be out for around 2-3 months! I am working hard in the gym to stay fit and I am gutted but I will be back stronger!

Here's to Frimp/Coq development.

Speaking of Vermaelen,

GoonerTalk
Thomas Vermaelen requires surgery on his left ankle, according to @northbanklower. Could mean another lengthy spell on the sidelines.

Jeez, everything that can go wrong is going wrong here. Soon RVP will be hurt, and Bendtner will start knocking in goals from all over the place while we watch Chamakh and Park pretending to be Denilson in the box.

On another positive note, UEFA have held up their two game ban on Wenger for doing exactly what they told him he could do. It's hilarious that this all from a stupid ban because Wenger was mad about a piss poor ref that cost him getting knocked out of the Champions League over a BS sending off 8 months ago.

Glad to see that UEFA has the time to stamp out these scourges of the game. No need to punish the ref in question for his brutal officiating, of course, he's since been promoted to the head of the refereeing federation!
