NFL Week 1: NON PACKERS

Post#1 » by MickeyDavis » Thu Sep 8, 2011 1:31 pm

Here is the distribution map for week 1. Fox has the doubleheader.

http://www.the506.com/nflmaps/2011/wk1.html

Games I'm interested in:

Atlanta/Chicago - have to root for Atlanta but wish both teams could lose

Detroit/Tampa - two up and coming teams, have to root for the Bucs.

Minny/SD - Shouldn't be close

Jets/Dallas - Another case where I hate both teams

Pitt/Baltimore - Always a dogfight

Philly/St. Louis - Let's see how the Dream Team actually performs.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Thanks MD.

I hope Baltimore finally has the offensive weapons to compete with Pit.

With Dallas' injuries at both CB and having a nobody at RT you have to wonder if Romo won't be out for the season by halftime.

I think Phillys D is going to be pretty good. They may have some communication issues early with the new faces but any big plays they give up they should make as many in their favor. The Offense is pretty intact but Maclin's infection and their pathetic Oline will hopefully be enough to get Vick on the run. While I hope the Rams continue to improve I doubt they can get things done this week.

I'm curious to see Kolb in AZ. Anytime Fitz is fired up they are dangerous. I think Heap has some good games until he hurts himself. I'm not sold on Bennie but if he has a good year the division is there for the taking.

I think Hasselbeck has a good year for Tenn too, and the Jags are going nowhere. Should be a good warm up game for CJ.

ATL v CHI should be a good game, and while I like Atlanta they need to be brought down a few notches, but Chicago probably doesn't have to D to make Ryan lose his shirt.

Hou v Indy. If Manning is done, could this be the start of Indy's march for Luck?

Anyway, should be a great opening week of football especially since we won't have to watch SF v Seattle. I missed most of the season last year so I'm pumped for this one to get going.

I think Philly's D is going to get wrecked by anyone with a running game. I think they match up way better with us than they do against a team like ATL. I think ATL could just pound the ball against them and wear them out...

Their D has talent in the secondary, but they are small as hell.

LBs are small, but they have some size inside on the line. Tampa and Indy has gotten away with small for years, and if Philly's O gets a lead and forces the other team to throw...
I'm not saying they are a dream team, but with the Giants and the Cowboys already beat up they should take their division.

I love me some Sam Bradford and I think Jax could have a huge game against them.

I'm not convinced their D can stop Philly though. That's not a crazy prediction, IMO.

Always a chance Vick gets hurt early, but I think it would take a Vick pick 6 and Sjax breaking free early for STL to have a chance.

Since this is non packer thread, anyone else think the steelers are dead in the water?? I think age might of finally caught up them. The defense is older than dirty and Troy is having problems staying on the field and Harrison is currently hurt. The o line is terrible and i'm not sold on WR's they have.

I think its kind of a joke that this team is being rated in the top ten, right now. IMHO

I squandered an asset? Then Hammond taught me well.

Don't know what to make of the Steelers. They should still have a top defense, and with the lockout it's possible they'll enter the season healthier than they've been in years.

I think I still like them to come out of the AFC.

I just assume the Packers, Steelers and Patriots will be good every year now. Their front offices pwn everyone else.

Official: Sources say Manning had surgery this am - cervical fusion with 2-3 month minimum recovery. No word on whether he will be put on IR.

Oh my god. The Colts just became players in the Suck For Luck Sweepstakes. Can you **** imagine?

I really believe the guy should probably just hang it up if it is getting that serious. I'm not a doctor or anything, but that doesn't sound like it's something you easily recover from or something that wouldn't be risky if you kept playing...

@injuryexpert: If reports of Manning's cervical fusion are correct, this is potentially career ending.

I would say of course it's potentially career ending. If you're sitting out a season because of your spine, there has to be a good chance you never play again.
