Official Trade Idea Thread (all others to be locked)

Post#1 » by basghetti80 » Thu Sep 8, 2011 8:05 pm

Due to recent surge in Trade Idea Speculation, we are establishing an Official Trade Thread as of now.

Please place all Trade Ideas here.

We will let currently open Trade Ideas threads alone, but all future ones will be locked.

I'm so thankful Boozer is outgoing in this one. It makes me remember normalcy around here.

thats actually 2 deals i can see making sense for all sides.

unfortunately odom, bass and reddick dont fill the holes well enough to get us over the heat. and we probably dont beat dallas with that team either. the hole at shooting guard is still there. reddick proved that he is nothing but korver 2.0. duhon helps with ball handling but offers nothing with outside shooting. odom is basically another deng that can handle the ball. but he cant score enough to help rose and the bulls get over the hump.

rose commands a double team. we need to put a team on the floor that hurts the other teams defense when they want to send a double at rose. that way the only 2 options when you play the bulls are, send the double at rose, we counter with outside shooters hitting 3's from everywhere, or they single coverage on rose, and rose goes ham on the opposing teams defense forcing them to react and leaving it open for rose to hit shooters in the corner. either way our offense wins.

those trades dont do that for us.

Thank you mods. Even without a significant amount of basketball related topics and discussion, it has seemed cluttered by trade ideas.

I hate the resulting Bulls roster. Other than that, its money.

Lol agreed.

After Rose, our 2nd best attribute was the "bench mob." Please for the love of god keep Brewer, Taj and Asik, all 3 of them, on the team, unless it means you're getting a prime all-star. Odom was an OK idea, but after thinking about it, this guy disappears in important situations as often if not more than Deng.. he's past his prime.. and with the Kardashian side-story, an unwanted trade out of L.A. would just end in disappointment for Bulls fans.

I was terrified when Chicago offered Redick that big contract, and I was stunned and surprised when Orlando decided to add to their log-jam and payroll hell by matching. JJ's not an NBA starter, and we have Korver doing the 3P specialist role- more proven, at that.

Losing Brewer would hurt the team if you're replacement is Redick.

Wow that's a nice deal for Orlando and not sure they could do better, if Dwight hasn't made up his mind yet, that deal could have him stay there. This helps the cHeat and Orlando.

For the Bulls? Oh hail no.

You'll think of a good trade proposal eventually.

I think. :-?

Do all of these trades work under the current CBA?

There is no current CBA

That is why complicated trade ideas are very premature at this time.

Under the current (old) CBA, the salaries match fine.

Eh...that seems like a lateral move at best. And a net negative considering we could sign a player like Reggie Williams without giving up Asik or Korver.

Orlando would not consider that. It's going to take more picks, as well as taking one of Hedo or Arenas.

Noah, Boozer, Bobcats pick, Korver/Brewer, and 2 Bulls first rounder for DH12 and garbage.

I would play Dwight at pf and Omer at C. Can you imagine Dwight at pf?

Orlando won't want that much long-term salary back.

Dr Genius wrote:I would play Dwight at pf and Omer at C. Can you imagine Dwight at pf?

Dwight at PF would force him to play more on the perimeter defensively, which is the absolute last thing you want. Gibson/Howard with Asik as the third big is fantastic. However, if a Howard trade were to happen, you can bet one or both of them will be heading to Orlando.

That's like trading Pargo for Kobe. A little too much like trading Pargo, since half of them resemble him quite a bit.
