Around the NFL

Post#1 » by Cliff Levingston » Fri Sep 9, 2011 2:00 pm

It makes sense to have a thread dedicated to all teams other than the Bears.

Cliff Levingston will kick this sucker off by trashing Olin Kreutz. He looked like a tight end out there more than an interior lineman between Evans and Nicks. It's no wonder that when the Saints tried to run up the middle with Ingram, the interior of that line got blown up directly in the middle; right through Kreutz. When trying to get to the second level, Olin repeatedly whiffed on blocks with an easy side step allowing a linebacker to get right pas him.

He can still effectively get in the way of an pass rusher, but watching him try to run block was pure comedy. Yet, some people would have you believe that the Bears' offensive line is worse for having lost him. Nope. Thanks for the great Bears career Olin, and thanks for turning down the Bears' $4 million in favor of the Saints' $2 million.

I admit I was focusing on Olin last night as well and noticed him getting pushed back as usual but when you're up against Raji and Pickett that's going to happen. He's at his best when he's helping double team someone. One on one? Not so much. It was time.

Well you guys know I was dead set against Olin sticking around here. The lopsided press the Bears got on that was just evidence that the local press was upset because the considered Olin a friend after such a long time. What was funny was how they said he "kept the line together and his leadership blah blah blah" Kept a line together that gave up 52 sacks! LOL!. I believe that people will notice that the Bears will be able to run between the tackles this year, something that hasn't happened here in quite a while.

The Saints thought we were wrong about Alex Brown last season & they cut him. Olin won't make it to camp for them next year. Thankfully he acted like a baby here and didn't resign.

He has been getting knocked backwards for three years now. We were horrible in short yardage & goal line rushing because of mainly him. I also appreciate his Bears career, but the front office should have ushered him out the door two seasons ago.

IMHO, it would have led to more victories for our team & less criticism of some past/current offensive players.

I don't think there was a team more reliant on one player than the Colts were on Manning. They should be on the phone to Gerrard ASAP if they want to have a chance this year.

There's not going to a reason for Manning to come back late in the season if this is how they're going to play. Texans having their way.

I cannot tell a lie. Rex Grossman impressed me today.

Rex Grossman was better than Kyle Orton when both were here. People will disagree with me but that's what I always thought.

Geez, Brady is ridiculous. The Pats make offense look so damn easy.
