Louisville gets beaten by FIU at home 24-17.
That's not going to be a happy fan base for a while.

276 pound DL Melvin Ingram with the 68-yard fake punt run. That's what Mark Richt gets for going with the offside kick.

Re: Week 2 game thread
Our defense looks really good this week, but I have no idea what Kiffin is doing with this offense. WAAAAY too conservative, and it's not like our line is really having much trouble either. We need to be playing more vertically, no need to turn Woods into strictly a possession receiver when he that good.

True that. Throw in three years under Spurrier and he'll be a top pick. He slung Murray around like a rag doll on that fumble recovery for a TD.
I'm really excited about him because I've seen how Spurrier has molded far less talented players into great college starters and in many cases decent NFL players. He's finally starting to get some of the top guys to commit to SC.

Re: Week 2 game thread
Clowney was phenomenal. I watched as much of him as they showed and he is remarkably advanced for his age. He has some great counter moves and he knows how to set things up. And one time they tried to cut block him to throw to the TE on an out, he read it quickly, took a step back and the cut missed him, the QB had to throw it away. He reminds me of a more physical Tamba Hali. Dude will be the #1 overall pick in whatever draft he wants to be in.
Other thoughts:
--Notre Dame and Michigan both stink. I've rarely seen two less competent teams both try to repeatedly lose the game without success. Denard Robinson has a future as an NFL running back though.
--People are going to look at the OSU/Toledo score and think the Buckeyes nearly blew it. Trust me, Toledo was very game and very well coached. They have two legit NFL corners (if they stay healthy) and a marginal NFL safety, and their OL is better than Michigan's. Having said that, Buckeyes were flat and appeared to lack confidence. Home fans did not help.
--Rice was the better team against Purdue a week after they were the better team for a half at Texas.
--So Texas has a McCoy throwing to a Shipley as pretty much their only offense, and both look just like their older brothers
BYU's offense is dreadful and predictable.
--Serious gut check by Auburn on the last play, but MSU totally mismanaged the clock. Incredible goal line tackle probably salvages their season. Saw little of the game but that was literally the only positive play I saw from their defense.
--NMSU beats Minnesota, UCF blows out BC, Wofford damn near beat Clemson, Rhode Island damn near beat Syracuse, Fresno was very close to beating Nebraska. There is so little margin between the non-elite BCS conference schools and the top tier of non-BCS schools and FCS schools. Thankfully my Ohio Bobcats improve to 2-0 by spanking someone called Gardner Webb, a week after pounding NMSU on the road. Go Cats!

Re: Week 2 game thread
Notre Dame and Michigan are barely pedestrian.
Could UCF be a BCS buster?
The out gained Boston College 422-141 in a 30-3 win.
In two games, UCF has outscored opponents 92-3 and out gained them by 980-256.

I actually liked the Michigan unis and the ND helmets. Then again I liked Maryland's gear last week. Nothing has been worse than Georgia's black ones last week.
