Kurt Rambis?

I know its too late and we have a new coach, but if Kurt would have stayed on as head assistant. He would likely be the new coach of the Lakers this season - if there is one. Who would you rather have leading the team Ramis or Brown?

i don't think rambis would have gotten the job over mike brown. seems pretty clear that the front office wanted an entirely new direction.

personally, i'm excited to see what mike brown brings to this team.

And to be honest the way this team played throughout the season, culminating in the playoffs, showed they needed a huge change in direction. The best basketball coach alive couldn't get them motivated. I know some players were upset about not getting Shaw, but can you really blame the FO after those embarrassing series?

The players simply didn't deserve to choose a coach. Had we have played more as a team, giving true effort night in and night out and still lost, then Shaw very well could be the coach today. But it really seems like, barring huge roster changes our only option to maximize our current roster is to change the coach and style of play dramatically.

A DNA change may be enough to catch the league off-guard. I just hope we can have some sort of training camp to put the pieces together.

Rambis should have some role with the Lakers. I do not think he wants to be a assistant coach any more. Some exective role should be his if he wants it.

I like Mike Brown alot as a young, upstart, motivational head coach .... however, he ain't the best coach for this team as currently constructed.

Shaw should have been the pick.

This team is built to win now in the playoffs and regular season, and Brown, although very talented and charming, isn't equipped to deal with the multiple veteran personalities who have grown accustom to a certain managerial style that has afforded them much past success.

I like Brown but think Shaw was easily the more seamless and less risky pick for a veteran team that has already tasted the victory champagne.

IMO this team would have walked all over Shaw. They pretty much tuned out the last coaching staff by the end. And I get that Mike Brown is no authoritarian, but he's at least a new voice. Human nature is so long as he passes the first crucial test, then it'll take a while for them to tune him out too.

I'd still go with Brown. At least he has experience. Not sure how Rambis would have performed.
