sounds like the motor might have died on you, could also be a faulty switch or a problem with the regulator. since you say its clicking i'm assuming you have power, so i'm leaning towards the motor, but not 100%.

I'm reading people with window motor problems and they say it has been off an on for weeks and finally went out. However, today is the first instance I've had.

Did you lean on your window, like when it was half way down or something?

Damn, $250 for a new window motor and I'm not even sure that is the exact problem. Closing car doors is serious business, folks.

double check all the small stuff. even if you hear a click, doesn't hurt to check your fuses, and if u can (have a spare, know someone with a similar car) double check the switch. what kind of car do u have if u don't mind me asking?

No, this is what happened:

- drove home from work with the windows down
- parked my car, got out closed the door to run inside the house real quick (window still down)
- got back into the car, went to the bank to get some money to buy mallows, but in the Ralphs parking lot I pressed window roll up button for both sides, only passengers went up.
- turned off the car, turned it back on, still didn't work.
- drove back home, parked in garage, tried to close the window, still didn't work.
- ????????
- no profit, just loss.

i wouldn't bother with it, it won't be a big deal in a few years (or at least not big enough to make any kind of substantial living off of it)

My bets on motor, but there is a chance you just knocked some wiring loose. I think it's fairly easy to pop off a door panel, although I've never done it.

most cars have one by the battery and on the driver side, under the steering wheel somewhere. should have a diagram on the lid that tells you which fuse works for what.

That's the broken motor, normally happens when the car hits around 80 - 90k mileage. I had 2 of the rear windows on my audi fixed in the last 3 months and it cost me $700 parts + service. If you can do it yourself you can buy the part for around $90 - $100.

That seems like a very detailed tutorial.

I only quoted dcash4 because I'm too lazy to go back a page or hit the delete key.
