which RB for Cam Newton

Post#1 » by BKAY » Thu Sep 15, 2011 5:42 pm

OK so my fantasy team is lacking at the QB position (J Cutler and Rex Grossman off waivers) and I am pretty stacked at RB
Chris Johnson
Darren Mcfadden
Deangelo Williams
Michael Turner
Jahvid Best
Cedric Benson
Joseph Addai

SO im lookin to trade for Cam Newton b/c his team has an excess of QBs and very weak RBs.

Which RB(s) should I trade for Cam, obviously looking to get the better end of the deal but dont want to lowball

All of those RBs are worth more than Cam Newton. Aim higher.

I agree, Cam had a great week....I wouldnt rush to give up anything yet. Nobody even took him off waivers in my league.

There's a pretty solid chance Cam is fantasy irrelevant this year. He looked awful in preseason and rookie QBs who make big fantasy impacts are rare. He looked good but there's a pretty good chance that Week 1 was a fluke. All of those guys are worth more.

There's no way Cam Newton does that every week, you could probably get a more proven guy with most any of those RB's. If you really wanted Newton for some reason, I'd only give up your lowest RB, probably Addai for him.

If you need a QB, you'd be smarter to look for someone else though, as everybody's going to be beating up Arizona

False.

I'm not even high on Newton like that, but some of his RB's are flatout lame.

Addai is absolute garbage.

D Williams is going to have trouble doing anything most of the season.

Best is an injury risk and sure to disappoint this year on the ground, the only thing that saves him is PPR if that's what your league is.

Benson will have a year like Forte in 09-10 minus about half the catches.

I agree though, I would shoot higher then Cam as an acquisition, but his RB's aren't even that good just as an in general once you get past the two big dogs at the top.

I didn't say they were good, just that they were worth more. I would expect to get more for Addai in a non-keeper league than I would for Newton.
