Waiver Wire replacement for Miles Austin

Post#1 » by JDP » Mon Sep 19, 2011 6:37 am

I'm in a little bit of a situation reports are saying that Miles reaggravated his hamstring during his monster performance vs. the Niners.

He basically got me the win this week but reports are saying that hes going to be out till after the Cowboys week so about Week 6. I'm 2-0 in my league and I'm wondering if any one has any possible replacements that are going to be available on this weeks waiver wire.

I already put in a claim for Eric Decker but since I'm at the top of my league I doubt I will get him.

a couple of other names if been thinking of are Kevin Ogletree, Brandon Lafell, Denarius Moore, Donald Jones, or David Nelson.

Anyone have any idea of who I should be targeting as a fill in for a couple of weeks.

Brandon Lafell looks good and the Panthers are looking like they're goingt o be chucking the ball all over the place.

Depends on the depth of your league. Decker and Moore should be options 1 and 2. Lafell's not bad, but I'm not sure I'd ever feel comfortable starting him (after Smith and Stew Beef, the targets will be split between Olsen, Shockey and Lafell). Nelson seems interesting. See if Gibson is still out there -- he's got a chance to establish himself as the go to man in St. Louis. Dexter McCluster is also interesting, since there's a good chance he's listed as a WR in your league but will get the ball in a wide variety of ways. Burleson is available in some leagues and should be owned. Jerome Simpson is coming off a big day and Jordan Shipley is out for the year, so Simpson might be worth a flyer.

Unfortunately Nelson and Burleson were both drafted in my league thanks for the suggestions. Decker and Moore are pretty much on my two best options and the claims are already in. You made a great point about McCluster and since he is actually listed as WR in my league I think I might even go for him. I think he can put up fantasy points in all sorts of ways since JC is likely done for the season.
