Cheers fats!!! Geelong is my team, I was born in Castlemaine,Victoria which is literally the bush & Generally people from that way support the mighty cats!! (BTW I've lived in Tasmania most of my life though)

Geelong is a country town which makes it the ultimate small market team in the AFL, the 16(soon to be 17) other teams in the league are based out of cities (9 in Melbourne,2 in Perth,2 in Adelaide,1 in Brisbane,1 on the Gold Coast,1 in Sydney which is soon to be 2 because Greater Western City is coming in)

Geelong had to wait 44 years between premierships & then won 2 in 3 years unexpectedly losing a grand final to Hawthorn in between, our success as a small market team has been established through great drafting(We have the best recruiter in the business in Stephen Wells) & our team's community spirit.

Also a lot of our players are father/son selections(their old man played at least 200 games for the club) & have supported the team the entire life & most are from the Greater Geelong region(Corio,Ocean Grove,Torquay & Colac)

Thankyou for your support.

EDIT-I forgot to mention that yes if you support anyone but Collingwood then generally you are alright.

BTW Sachmo: For all his skills (and they are boundless), Marc Murphy is a disgusting flopper. He makes Boomber Harvey look like a hard man he's that bad. It's embarrassing just how willing/quick/natural Murphy is when it comes to looking like he's been shot. He'd put most soccer players to shame.

Just as well the Blues have Robinson to offset Murphy. Robinson is a fracking animal. I love his attack on the ball. A real throw back player - but with modern day skills.

Robo is a crazy Tasmanian, not sure there is much upstairs but he makes up for it with psychosis.

It's hard to see from the stands, but hated the umpiring in the second quarter. Seems like they got about 3 goals from dodgy umpiring decisions when we were in the position to really blow the game wide open.

Its always easy to blame the umps, but thats just how I felt at the time.

Overall we slacked off at times and we should have played Hampson. He kicked 6 goals last week in the VFL and is a good ruckman. Setanta got killed in the ruck.

I'm a crazy Tasmanian too!! Yeah Robbo is a crazy Tasmanian & so is Aaron Joseph.

Funnily enough we all(well nearly all) play football like that down here.

Dead serious. I was born in the Kyneton hospital, went to Kyneton Primary, went to Kyneton Secondary College, played footy for Kyneton in the BFL and only left Kyneton when I was about 20 to move to Melbourne for work.

Mum and Dad still live in the same house in Kyneton they have been in since they were married. I've pub crawled Mollison and Piper street more times than I can remember and swam for Kyneton in the state titles wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy back in the day.

How old are you? How long were you in the 'Maine for?

Long story short: I was over here in 2003, met a chick, hit it off, she came over to Oz 6 months later, we lived in Oz for a year and then moved here. Got married a couple of years later, squeezed out a couple of kids and BOOM, Bob's your Uncle.

I'm 23 Slam & I live in Castlemaine until I was 4 & then moved to Tassie with my family when I was 4 or 5(my mum is Tasmanian)

I still go over every year or so(as I have done my whole life) as we have family, friends & family friends over there & I really love the place.

Funnily enough my sister used to live in Macedon & now lives in Bendigo with my brother-in-law but we have friends in Newstead,Kyneton,Macedon etc so we get about the area a bit.

The Macedon Ranges is one of my favourite places in Australia & I've always wanted to go to the Kyneton Jazz Festival.

Between Castlemaine & Kyneton there is around 10 thousand people & 2 of us from there are on the same forum board lol.

I like Fremantle but this week I despise them, they stole a coach which is highy unethical

The funny thing is the coach they had is better than the coach they got

Thought you would be more into the Hawks than the Cats being a Tasmainian? 'Bout bloody time the Apple Isle got their own team any ways. It's a long time over due.

They are actually both! They both hold duel citizenship (lucky buggers!!).

How did your partner like country Vic??

After she got over the initial fear that everything could potential eat, poison or kill her she loved it. She loves all of Oz. After living in Melb for a year we drove around Oz for 3 months before moving here (I wanted to see as much of my home as I could before I left). I bought a panel van, tricked it out with a raised bed in the back and drove/campled the east coast, across the top from Townsville to Tenant Creek, down through the middle then back to Kyneton.

The 'Tassie' Hawks are a scam, we pay them 3 million a year to play about 3-4 games & they also keep gate receipts  Unfortunately that is our Governments decision-We the taxpayer have no say.

I've always supported the Cats for as long as I can remember & before I moved to tassie, I can still remember the '92 Gf loss to West Coast & crying my little eyes out & I was only 4!!

My Father & Brother also support Geelong & my Mother & Sister support Collingwood unfortunately.

Agreed that Tassie should have it's own team & funnily enough we have some of the greatest players ever(Peter Hudson,Ian Stewart,Doc Baldock,Royce Hart etc etc) & we even would have enough at the moment to field quite a strong team. It's disgusting that places like GWS who don't like football at all & have no interest in the sport are handed a franchise & we can't even though we contribute 9-12 million a year in revenue at least for the Hawthorn Football Club. The assault on Rugby heartland is Pi**ing me off!!

Realgm knows no bounds in this universe!!
