New Jays Logo? (Leaked Online)

Saw this on Dustin Parkes' Twitter page. Apparently it was leaked on the sportslogos.net forums.

its nice. but i like the logo that one of our posters designed a bit more. also not a fan of powder blue.

way better than expected...I mean it's just basically the old logo but that's better than anything new.

Now hopefully it stays this way for a long time!

I like it, not a huge fan of powder blue, but the actual logo I really like.

Like it.

Like the powder blue too. The bird is modernized, but the colour scheme is distinctive and mildly retro.

(Doesn't look like we get the traditional double-piped letters/numbers.....)

That's not the actual font for the lettering being used

The BLUE JAYS script you see in this image is, from what I’m told, no a part of the new graphic package but a standard font used on a t-shirt.

Three cheers for that logo. I'm all for returning to the classic, distinctive logo. No more of the toothpaste caps, etc.

And glad to hear that isn't the font that will be used.

Maple Leaf is a lot bigger in the above logo than on the original.

Old Leaf stopped before the Dark blue on the bird.

If they shrink the Maple Leaf to the same size as the original logo I'll be happy as could be.

but what I’m being told is that the new primary logo will be the bird and maple leaf here, and will include a baseball and the team name arched over and under the baseball (much like the 1977-1996 logo)

Sounds like the baseball and lettering is returning too for the Primary Logo. The Above must just be an simplified Alternate logo.

I hope it's the lettering with the piping. That would be exactly what I wanted in the new logo.

The bird also looks a lot more... sharper. Sharper beaks and slightly narrower eyes.

Better than I would have expected but I have to echo the statements of others - the Maple leaf is too big. It looks like it's been photoshopped on top of the logo. it looks unbalanced, as if it's been 'pinned' on there as an after-thought.

I don't mind being patriotic, but do we really have to remind everyone that the Blue Jays play in Canada and are "Canada's team". Isn't it that type of thinking that causes the rest of the league to overlook the Jays because they keep being perceived as the foreigners/outsiders?

<-- i like this logo however the new one posted above with a smaller canada flag would be acceptable, much more than the current one. I'd like to see what the uniforms will look like though.
