i will say this tho for the future: TB will be running this division if they find 2 bats, their SP and upcoming SP is just RIDICOLOUS

so might as well enjoy this run as much as 1 can

TB isn't financially capable of running the East, at least not as long as the Yankees and Sox are spending 180 million+. They're letting too many of their big-name players leave via FA or trading them for more prospects before they're able to leave. They need to increase their payroll.

Well, it's simple why Tampa Bay will never win (and interesting that they almost traded James Shields) and that is, you make MORE money losing than you do winning. Money ball proved that as the A's are a year away from moving into a lovely new stadium in hip, ultra expensive San Jose.

It is RARE nowadays that businessmen are as competitive as the Steinbrenner legacy. Though that may be changing even with the Yankees.

To me, it's also indicative that Boston's line up faltering. Contrary to Olney's comparison of the 2011 Sawx to the '99 Yanks, they remind me a lot of the 2004 Yanks that is over powered but the slow start forced them to win every game that by the time they got to the Fall they were out of gas.

Hard NOT to go with Nova as #2 pitcher....

I think I'd go in a 5 game set: Game 1 CC, Game 2 Nova, Game 3 Colon

IF the Yanks go AL CS, I'd add AJ Burnett as Game 4

Interesting numbers for Colon:

Bartolo is 0-3 with a 4.98 ERA in eight starts since beating Baltimore on July 30. The right-hander allowed six runs in four innings and did not factor in the decision of a 7-6 win at Toronto on Saturday.
Colon is 0-2 with a 4.50 ERA versus Tampa Bay this season.

Tonight's line up is bizarre. Posada at 1B and Montero behind the plate. Tex @ DH.

A-Rod rests (seriously how many damn times Yanks gonna rest him?)

Nerves...he'll be fine. Brackman FINALLY stayed healthy enough to make an appearance. Both these guys pitch counts (32 & 27 respectively) will go down as they continue forward.

hey Pharmcat, do you have any idea of when the last time Brackman or Betances pitched in a same? September 4th...... I want to see ANY prospect make their MLB debut after not pitching for 2+ weeks and be lights out...

It won't ever happen, they just had to eat innings for us tonight as our regular had pitched the previous two days and a doubleheader.

If you think 1 game swayed the yankees thoughts about these prospects, you are short sighted
