Week 3 start/sit

Post#1 » by JDP » Thu Sep 22, 2011 6:04 am

I guess i'll get it started this week.

Pick 2:
Shonn Greene v. Oakland, James Starks v. Chicago. Tim Hightower v. Dallas.

I think I'm penciling Greene lemme know what you guys think

Wr3 play Miles Austin is hurt so who do you like

Denarius Moore v. the Jets or David Nelson v.s New England.
I'm leaning with Nelson here to be honest.

last one should I throw Romo out there on Monday night or should I just go with Kolb v. Arizona

big week lemme know what you think.

would anyone who has Daniel Thomas start him this week? I have wells/blunt...I'm still little cautious of Blunt, while he did score twice yardage wise wasn't spectacular and Atl seems to be a lot better D then Minn.

I've got Deion Branch WR, James Starks RB, and AJ Green WR all vying for my flex. Who do I play this week?

Frank Gore/Michael Turner RB
Steve Smith (Carolina)/Santana Moss WR
Flex?

Really, really tough. I can't fault you for benching any of them. Dallas has a good run D but Hightower has been really good. Greene's been disappointing, but Oakland's given up a ton of yards on the ground. Go with your gut.

Denarius Moore v. the Jets or David Nelson v.s New England.

Nelson, easily.

I'd roll with Kolb, especially if Romo's playing status is at all questionable. Seattle is just awful, and Beanie is apparently dealing with an injury so Arizona could end up throwing a ton.

ESPN has Daniels ranked just ahead of Keller, but I think I prefer Keller. Sanchez has been leaning on him heavily. Oakland has one good DB, Routt, who will be on Holmes all game, and they've yet to face a good TE this year (played DEN and BUF). Daniels will be fine, probably, but it's worth noting that New Orleans has already played one elite tight end this year and held Finley to 57 yards and no TD.

Flex:

LeGarrette Blount or Anquan Boldin

Blount. TB rediscovered how to move the ball on the ground in the second half last week, and Forte and McCoy have both had big days. Graham may steal a few yards by being in on passing plays, but Blount should be good for 80 and a TD. I wouldn't be surprised to see StL have a bounce back game at home, and Flacco didn't look good in Tennessee. It's close, but I'd lean RB.

I'd have to wait to see it from Thomas. If Wells plays, he'll have a very solid day against the Seahawks. As for ATL's D, they've given up almost 200 yds and 2 TDs on the ground alone to RBs (Forte also gashed them badly on screens and dump offs). Blount is a very good play this week. I'm sitting him in the league in which I own him, but that's because I have McCoy, Rice and Tate. If Foster is ready to go this week, I've got no problem putting Blount back in the lineup and Tate on my bench.

Probably Starks. NE-Buf will be a shootout, but would it really surprise you if Branch went for 60 and no TD? With Welker, Ocho, Gronk and the RBs, there's a lot of uncertainty about who will get the points. My gut feeling is that Law Firm and Gronk will have the biggest days of any non-Brady offensive player, but then again I'm starting both of them. :) Green has been great so far, and SF has given up more points to opposing WRs than anyone else (thanks to Miles Austin), but I tend to lean RB when in doubt. Green's got the higher upside this week, so it depends on your matchup. If you need to swing for the fences, I don't have a problem with Green over Starks (though it wouldn't be my choice).

Frank Gore/Michael Turner RB
Steve Smith (Carolina)/Santana Moss WR
Flex?

I think you bench Moss. Dallas' secondary isn't good, but they're 10th in fantasy points allowed to WRs. Granted, they've played the Jets and 49ers, but it's still hard to imagine playing Moss over either RB, and Smith should have a huge game against Jacksonville's atrocious DBs.

OK, time for my decisions. :)

1) Big Ben or Freeman? Steelers have a very nice matchup, but they could spend all day running.
2) Boldin or Shonn Greene at flex? Both are late starts, so I can make the switch late if I need to.
3) Tate or Blount? As I said above, I'm leaning Tate. Getting too cute?

I'd do Freeman, the more competitive game the more points usually and Big Ben should have a real easy one.

I like Boldin, Flacco looks to him all of the time and I have no confidence in Greene at all.

I'd go Tate, I think he's going to be the Arian foster of this season.

Question for you:

Pick 2 RB in PPR Tate - Almost a lock on him, Foster pretty much out, Tolbert, D. Williams, Addai, D. Carter - Don't like them this week against the Steelers or Dexter McCluster.

I see Tolbert is Questionable. I was thinking Tate, Tolbert but if Tolbert can't go it's a coin flip between D. Williams or McCluster.

Pick 2 RB: Non PPR - Leaning Wells and CJ2K and away from RunDMC due to the poor matchup. Thoughts?

Wells Vs. Sea

C. Johnson Vs. Den

D. McFadden Vs. Jets

B. Jacobs Vs. Phila

Freeman
Greene
Tate

How about this, choose 2 of:

Santonio Holmes vs Oak
Reggie Wayne vs Pitt
Devery Henderson vs NO

I should preface all of my replies with the statement that I've only played for two years, and with mixed success (usually my downfall is that I stay with bad players for too long because I believe they'll improve). So, I'll post my logic, but don't take it as gospel -- decide if you think it makes sense to you or not.

MDU:

I'd go Tate and Tolbert (if Tolbert's healthy). I'm not a Williams believer at all, and Pittsburgh's D should scare any one with respect to running backs (especially teams whose offenses are in as much trouble as Indy's). Carter could score, but Tolbert's a better bet. If Tolbert doesn't go, I guess you roll with Williams and hope they get the running game on track against a **** Jax D.

As for your PPR question, I'd order them Johnson, McFadden, Wells, Jacobs. DMC and Wells are close, but Wells is dealing with a leg injury and is a game time decision. If you're scared of the Jets matchup, that's fair, just keep an eye on actives/inactives for the late games. Even if Beanie does go, we've seen how terrible he is when he's not playing at 100%.

Crooked J:

I'd bench Henderson, as tough as that might be based on the last two perfomances. Sounds like Lance Moore is ready to come back, and one more mouth to feed means 3-4 fewer targets for DH, and fewer chances to break off a long one for a TD which is where he carries all of his value. Collins is looking for Wayne, and if Pitt has a defensive weakness its their corners. Holmes has been solid in his first two games. Don't know I could bench either for such a boom or bust player.

LApwnd:

I'd go Johnson. Decker is the clear man out, since Lloyd (I believe) is currently listed as probable. I gave reasons above why Wayne should be a fine start, but NE's corners have played terribly to start -- Stevie should have a big game.

I would go Freeman, but I dont see big numbers from either this week. I am leaning towards Greene, but both have high upside this week. I could see Boldin putting up really good numbers, he is just more risky IMO. I go Tate for sure, Foster may be out (I think he will be) so Tate will get another 100 yard performance and a TD.

Flex player Non-PPR

Wells @SEA, Jackson vs. Bal, Boew @ SD.

I was going Wells for sure, but now he is a game time decision. I dont like Jackson, so Bowe would be the other option....thoughts?
