I had high hopes for Cooper mid season this year, but he's just so bad defensively that I don't think he can play for us. Almost every time he has to field a ball it's an adventure. He may even be worse than EE.

It's a disappointment because he has a perfect swing.

I still can't get over the D last night - watching that travesty of a first inning, I wasn't sure whether to call Judge Landis or Ronald McDonald.

I'm not at all opposed to losing this game.

Neither, it seems, is Brett Cecil.

Cecil will definitely need to be replaced next season.

Cecil is pitching himself into the lefty specialist role next year. Which isn't a bad thing for the team... his splits against left-handed batters are very good.
Nick Nurse recounting his first meeting with Kawhi:
“We could have gone forever. (Raptors management) kept knocking on the door and I was like, ‘A couple more minutes.’ Because we were really into it."

Not hard to imagine, a few here predicted the Red Sox falling apart around 3 weeks ago.

Cecil is nowhere near bad enough to consider a relief role for him. He's been a league average starter this season. If you don't want to start him anymore, you use that value in a trade.

NIce to see the Jays & Yanks doing what they can to push down the Red Sox

I wonder if the Yankees will start resting some players tomorrow? :D

Yankees already played the B lineup today in the early game. I would hope they'll play their starters tonight.

Was just going to say that. Granderson , Cano , Teixera, Swisher did not play and they still won.

Most likely DH Arod in game 2 tonight, sit Martin and sit Jeter since they all played the early game.
