The LA Lakers and the Boston Celtics have a trade to announce

LA outgoing:

Nate Robinson $4,500,00
Shannon Brown $4,200,000
Derek Fisher $3,400,000
Lakers 2012 1st(unprotected)

Total: $12,100,000

for

Boston Outgoing:

Chris Kaman 12,700,000
Clippers 2012 2nd round pick(unprotected)

Salary works out under 125% rule

The Lakers were severely needing a big man. Chris Kaman is a solid big man who made the all star team in the past. We did have to give up young players and an unprotected draft pick but we had to do it.

Approved.

Trade #74

Jerebko $3,000,000 (4 years flat)
Maxiell $5,000,000
Wallace$2,246,400
Total: $10.24m

for

Hinrich $8,100,000
MIN 1st 2012
Kwame $1,500,000 (2 years flat)
Total: $9.6m <-- close enough to work within 125%

We're unsure if maxiell will opt out of his $5m payday next year. Essentially, we're trading Kwame for Wallace, Jerebko for Min 1st and Maxiell for Hinrich.

Hated to lose our only young PF but we like the first rounder and this weakens us nicely for the draft.

Approved.

MIA sends:
KG ($21,247,044)

DEN sends:
Luis Scola ($8,519,793)
Lamar Odom ($8,900,000)

Total: 17,419,793

17,419,000*1.25 = $21,874,741 > $21,247,044 so salaries work!

MIA loves KG on defense, but Lamar will bring that back some when he plays PF minutes, and will make a great backup for LBJ when we slide lbj to the 2 to play big. scola's a very effective scorer and can defend/rebound fairly well alongside al J and gortat. We also get back much more financial flexibility. good dealing DEN!

Approved.

Cleveland and Philadelphia have a trade to announce.

Cavs out:
Chuck Hayes ($4,000,000)
Julian Wright ($800,000)
= $4,800,000

Sixers out:
Spencer Hawes ($2,500,000)
Joel Przybilla ($2,000,000
2013 2nd
= $4,500,000

We missed out on Spencer in Free Agency, and wanted to get our guy. We love Chuck Hayes and looked forward to him playing with our young team, but Hawes is a younger big man that can grow with our nucleus of players. We didn't really have a spot for Julian on our team, and Przybilla serves as a nice mentor for Hawes and Mozgov. A future 2nd is icing on the cake. Good dealing, lukekarts!

Approved.

Trade 77

Wade to LA

In a surprising move, the Houston Rockets have sent All Star Dwyane Wade and PG Jeff Teague to the Los Angeles - Clippers. In return the Clippers have sent PG Stephen Curry, Wes Johnson, Al-Farouq Aminu and Boris Diaw.

The Rockets take on $17,178,760 and send $18,198,120 of salary to the Clippers. This falls within the rules of the CBA and gains a $1,019,360 TPE for the Rockets.

Houston said they were astounded by the persistence of the Clippers but found them to be fair throughout the negotiations. While the Rockets hate to lose D Wades services, the acquisition of Steph Curry and the potential that Wes Johnson and Aminu bring was too good to pass up. In addition, Nic Batum encouraged picking up Spanish National teammate Boris Diaw.

In the end it was great working with LAC to accomplish this trade.

Trade #78:

ATL trades:

Al Horford $12,000,000

= $12,000,000

ORL trades:

Nene $12,000,000
James Johnson $1,833,120
HOU 1st 2012
Ind 2nd 2012

= $13,833,120

Why for ATL?

We do this because Nene is the better fit next to Perkins + we get good assets here...

#79: ORL and NOH have a trade to announce:

TO ORL:
DeMarcus Cousins ($3,627,720)
Trevor Ariza ($6,790,640)

Total: 10,418,360

TO NOH:
Al Horford ($12,000,000)
Derrick Williams ($4,602,720)

Total: 16,602,720

NOH is over 20M under the cap and can absorb the 6M that is extra.

NOH accepts. I have mixed feelings on this one. I think value wise, it's great. A defensive big is almost required on every championship team, and Horford brings me that. Williams has a similar ceiling to Cousins, and could easily be the best player from the 2011 draft. The bad part is taking on the extra money, which I really don't want to do, but I like this deal enough to pull the trigger.

#80: ATL and ORL again

ATL trades:

James Johnson $1,833,120
Rashard Lewis $2,000,000
Willie Green $800,000
Dan Gadzuric $800,000
ATL 1st 12
ATL 1st 13
ATL 1st 14
IND 2nd 12
ATL 2nd 14

= $5,433,120 * 1,25 = $6,791,400

ORL trades:

Trevor Ariza $6,790,640

Why for ATL? Our bench looks nice now + we want proven players.

81!

Dallas, Houston and New York have agreed a trade.

Dallas Trades

JJ Barea - $3,500,000
Rudy Fernandez - $2,180,443
Dominique Jones - $1,193,280
Brendan Haywood - $7,624,500
Ian Mahinmi - $947,000

Total Outgoing - $15,445,223

receives:

Jameer Nelson - $7,800,000
Ronny Turiaf $4,360,000
Jason Thompson $3,001,284

= $15,161,284 (Works as over the hard cap and taking in less than sending)

New York Trades

Ronny Turiaf $4,360,000

receives:

Rudy Fernandez - $2,180,443
Dominique Jones - $1,193,280
Ian Mahinmi - $947,000

Houston Trades

Jameer Nelson - $7,800,000
Jason Thompson $3,001,284

receives:

Brendan Haywood - $7,624,500
JJ Barea - $3,500,000

Numbers all add up almost perfectly!

Why for Dallas? We shake things up a little bit, like what Meer brings as potential replacement for Jason Terry in the long run, JT brings a backup PF into the fold.

This trade will be approved in 24 hours.

82.

I feel awkward trading with myself but babyjax confirmed yesterday it was OK and people of course remain the right to veto. That said, I was thinking last night, before I fell asleep, just how much sense this trade makes for both of my teams and I hope you'll agree.

Dallas Trades

Jason Thompson - $3,001,284
Ronny Turiaf - $4,360,000
Al Thornton - $800,000
Chris Wilcox - $800,000

= Total Outgoing $8,961,284

Philly Trades

Chuck Hayes - $4,000,000
Glen Davis - $4,600,000

Why for Dallas? Hayes and Davis are guys born to be bench players on title contenders. That's where their value is; so for Dallas this brings two key contributors to the rotation.

Why for Philly? Jason Thompson is the best prospect here; he compliments my young core well and in the long-run I'm hoping he continues to be a 10/10 guy. Turiaf is a solid backup big man who will cover for Varejao. We also cut some long-term salary.

Again, this trade will be approved in an extra 24 hours.

Orlando Outgoing:

Andre Miller ($7,807,728)
J.J.Redick ($6,750,000)
Brandon Bass ($4,000,000)
James Johnson ($1,833,120)
Lazar Hayward ($1,097,520)
2012 ATL 1st
2013 ATL 1st
2013 LAC 2nd
2014 ATL 1st
2014 MIN 1st
2015 MIN 1st

Total: $21,488,368

Utah Jazz outgoing:

Derrick Favors $4,443,360
Ramon Sessions $4,257,973
John Brockman $1,000,000
Jason Kapono $800,000

Total: $10,501,333

The difference between salaries is $10,987,035 and Utah is $12,250,000 under the cap, so money works.

Orlando does it, because it brings us a great future talent Favors to pair up with DMC. Now we are satisfied with our young team, which is set up for future pretty well.

Approved with four vetoes, all implying that not enough value was sent Favors.

Trade #85

Golden State out / Houston in:
Markieff Morris - $1,649,300
Josh Childress - $1,500,000
Total salaries - $3,149,300

Houston out / Golden State in:
Al-Farouq Aminu - $2,755,560
Louis Amundson - $2,403,000
Total salaries - $5,552,300

Difference in salaries is $2.4M, and Golden State has more than enough cap space to absorb it.

GS accepts. Despite his rough start, I think Aminu has considerable potential, and he can contribute at SF, which is my area of greatest need.

DEN and PHI have a trade to announce.

DEN outgoing:
Andrew Bynum $14,900,000
Stephen Jackson $9,256,500
total:$24,156,500

PHI outgoing:
Andre Iguodala $13,531,750
Anderson Varejao $7,950,000
total:$21,481,750

We add the premier perimeter defender in the league in Andre Iguodala.14/6/6 and NBA 2nd Team All Defense, Iggy is a phenomenal playmaker that will allow Westbrook to score a bit more and Richardson to be a pure spotup shooter. Varajao is a very good defender that can play both the PF/C positions and will backup both spots.

New Jersey and Denver have agreed on a two part deal

Johan Petro ($3,250,000)

for

TPE (KG/Odom/Scola trade)

then

Chris Paul ($16,359,805)

for

Russel Westbrook ($5,082,416)
Anderson Varejao ($7,950,000)
Quentin Richardson ($2,446,200)
2013 2nd

total = $15,478,616 x 1.25 = $19,348,270

We replace the expiring and potentially injury prone CP3 with a younger star PG and get a quality starting C in his prime while dumping Petro's contract.

#88: To continue the night of blockbuster trades, LAC and NOH have a deal to announce:

TO NOH:
Dwyane Wade ($15,691,000)
Andris Beidrins ($8,000,000)
2013 LAC 1st

Total: 23,691,000

TO LAC:
Derrick Williams ($4,602,720)
Al Horford ($12,000,000)
2012 NOH 1st

Total: 16,602,720

NOH has over 15M in cap, and can absorb the extra about 7M.

NOH accepts. Big deal here. We love it though. Beans is a TO next year, so I still have cap space to bring in some FA's. Wade is a top 3 player in his prime. We also love this move because it clearly shows our progress over time. We started with Ariza/Paul/Jack/Pondexter, and we upgraded Paul to Wade, Ariza to Afflalo, Jack to Udrih, kept Pondexter and added Brooks and Greene in the process. Plus we keep the same number of picks.

89: Kings and Heat once again agree to deal while being a deal that isn't lame :p

Kings Trade:
Wes Matthews $6,135,000
Carl Landry - $5,000,000
Tyler Honeycutt -$380,000
Samuel Dalembert - $5,000,000
Brandan Wright -$885,120

Total: $17,400,120

Heat Trade;
Al Jefferson $14,000,000
Delonte West $2,000,000
Jordan Hill $2,855,760

Total: 18,855,760

$17,400,120 Times 1.25 = 21,750,150 which is well above 18,855,760

This Trade works because it is under the 1.25 rule and Kings are about 50,000,000 after this trade so cap works to. Great dealing Miami! I felt I had to upgrade my center position and why not get a top ten center? I think Patterson will be a 20-10 monster in his prime. If he struggles I can start Hill for a while. I love my roster of Harris/Garcia/Thad/Patterson/Jefferson. Once again, great dealin

#90: NJ and NO have a trade to announce:

TO NOH:
Channing Frye ($5,600,000)
Anthony Morrow ($4,000,000)
Jamario Moon ($800,000)

Total: 10,400,000 * 1.25 + 100,000 = 13,100,000

TO NJN:
Aaron Afflalo ($6,000,000)
Beno Udrih ($6,925,400)
2013 LAC 1st

Total: 12,925,400

Deal Works

NOH accepts. This brings us 2 great shooters to stretch the floor for us. We also have no negative contracts now that we got rid of Udrih. We also save some money, which is key because we are going to be a big player in FA. This also gives us a more complete starting unit of Brooks/Wade/Morrow/Frye/Beans, which we like.
