Trade #91.

EDIT: In order to stay within roster limits, prior to this trade GS releases Charlie Bell. We've still got to pay him.

OKC out / NY in:
Greg Oden - $9,400,000
2012 OKC 1st (lottery-protected from OKC)

NY out / OKC in:
Marcin Gortat - $6,790,640
Omri Casspi - $1,341,960
Next available NY 1st (most likely 2013)
Total salaries - $8,132,600

8132600 * 1.25 = 10165750 + 100K = 10,265,750 > 9,400,000; deal works

GS accepts. Risk management: Oden, healthy, will be better than Gortat, but the health risks are obviously significant

Approved. Trading is closed.

trade # 92

MIA sends:
Wilson Chandler ($7,000,000)
Zabian Dowdell ($788,872)

Total: $7,788,872

PHI sends:
Lou Williams ($5,176,000)
Jason Thompson ($3,001,284)

Total: $8,177,284

The salaries work within 1.25 rules because 1.25*7788872>(8177284-7788872). MIA does this to get a backup combo guard in LOU - we love lou because he's proven he can run the point in PHI. we may slide bayless to the 2 backup. jason thompson strengthens our front court significantly as he's a young and WELL-developING C! Great dealing, PHI!

Approved. Trading is now closed.

The Los Angeles Clippers and the Phoenix Suns have agreed to a deal:

The Clippers receive:
PG Rajon Rondo $10,000,000
SG Damion James $1,243,800
DEN 2012 1st
NJ 2013 1st
Total: $11,243,800

The Suns receive:
PF Al Horford $12,000,000
PG Jeff Teague $1,579,920
C Cole Aldrich $2,286,000
Total: $15,865,567

The Suns have the cap space to make this work

This trade gives me a great PG to play with Derrick WIlliams and Griffin, as well as two more picks.

Approved. Trading is now closed.

#95 (I think)

Cleveland and Philadelphia have a trade to announce.

Cavs out:
Boobie Gibson ($4,403,834)
Joel Przybilla ($2,000,000)
'13 Philly 2nd
= $6,403,834

Sixers out:
Ronny Turiaf ($4,360,000)
Jeremy Evans ($800,000)
= $5,160,000

Cleveland does this trade because we have a surplus of PG's and we are able to save money while adding a young wing in Evans. Good dealing, lukekarts, as always.

Approved. Trading is now closed.

Wolves-Bulls Blockbuster

Wolves outgoing: Chris Bosh

Total: 16,022,500

Bulls outgoing: Carlos Boozer, Taj Gibson, Ronnie Brewer

Total: $19,405,680

Salaries work. Wolves lose a 20/10 all-star PF but are able to get a decent replacement in Carlos Boozer and also add much needed depth with Taj Gibson up front and Ronnie Brewer, who will provide much needed defense in the backcourt.

Approved. Trading is now closed.

Cleveland and Washington have a trade they would like to announce.

Cavs out:
Tristan Thompson ($3,202,500)
=$3,202,500

Wizards out:
Jordan Crawford ($1,120,440)
Chris Singleton ($1,276,200)
WAS's '12 2nd
= $2,396,640

Washington has the additional salary to make this deal work financially. Cleveland does this deal to better fill out our wing situation as well as to move Derrick Williams to power forward, where we feel is his best fit for our team. Oh, Tristan, we hardly knew ye'. Good dealing, Washington.

Approved. Trading is now closed. Apologies for skipping this one.

Trade #98:

New Orlenas Hornets and Orlando Magic has reached an agreement:

Orlando gets:

Aaron Brooks ($4,250,000)

New Orleans gets:

2014 Orlando 1st round pick
2014 Denver 2nd round pick

The difference in salary is 4,250,000 and Orlando can absorb this, because we have about 16 million free money.
We do this, because it brings us a good PG under a good contract, while also, we keep ourselves under the cap by about 11-12 million.

Approved.

Toronto and Detroit have agreed to a trade:
Toronto Trades: Linus Klieza $4,600,000; Ed Davis $2,207,040; 2012 2nd (GSW)
Detroit Trades: Richard Jefferson $10,164,000, 2012 1st (DET)

EDIT: Toronto has about 12 million in cap space, so the salaries work.

The Raptors want Bradley Beal, and if the cost was taking on a bad contract I was going to do it because he is a PERFECT fit with my starting five. Jefferson also is a better shooter than Kleiza, and while Linus is a decent player, he just wasn't a great fit with my current core. Losing Davis hurts, but he wasn't in my future plans and I feel like the combination of Beal with DeRozan and Anthony Davis gives me a three-headed monster that should be extremely good in the next 2-3 years (in which time I'll still be collecting lottery picks).

Approved early, for the sake of the draft.

#102: CHA and HOU have a trade to announce:

TO CHA:
Wes Johnson ($4,285,560)
John Salmons ($8,500,000)
Chris Duhon ($3,500,000)
2012 HOU 2nd (#50)

Total: 16,285,560

TO HOU:
Dante Cunningham ($2,900,000)
C.J. Miles ($5,000,000)
Amir Johnson ($6,000,000)
2012 CHA 2nd (#31)

Total: 13,900,000

CHA is far under the cap, and can take on the extra salary.

CHA accepts. When we lost out on the lottery, we set out to find another building block. Wes Johnson is that. I know he can be a perennial all-star in his career, and in CHA, he should get that chance. Salmons is a great vet, that I like, and can add a vet presence to the team. Duhon is solid as a 3rd stringer, in case the Kemba experiment doesn't work out, or in case of injury.

Approved.

Trade #103.

Golden State out / Sacramento in:
Klay Thompson - $1,960,000

Sacramento out / GS in:
Delonte West - $2,000,000
2012 Sacramento 1st (#8)

Salaries obviously work.

GS accepts; we like the player we can get at #8 better than Thompson.

Approved, apologies for not doing it yesterday.

Washington and GS have a trade

Washington trades
T.Booker $1,385,280

GS trades
O.Casspi $2,277,306

Washington has the cap space to make this work

Washigton likes the rebounding that Booker offers but he will not be getting time behind Blatch and Tristan. We needed som depth at SF so Casspi fit nicely

DET/NYK trading picks

DET sends

Minny 2012 1st (#25)

NYK sends
OKC 2012 1st (#27)
NYK 2012 2nd + PHI 2012 2nd ( #47 + #48)

we're unsure who we can select but giving up the chance to choose 1 of 2 players and get 2 2nd rounder appeal to us.

Approved early for draft.

Cleveland and Boston have a trade to announce.

Cavs out:
Derrick Williams ($4,252,100)
Jimmer Fredette ($2,067,900)
Orlando's 2012 2nd
Sacramento's 2012 2nd
Washington's 2012 2nd
= $6,320,000

Celtics out:
Harrison Barnes (salary TBA?)
Luke Ridnour ($4,000,000)
= $4,000,000 x 1.25 = $5,000,000

Boston has the cap space to absorb the rest of the salary (which should work out anyways once Barnes' salary is determined). Cleveland does this deal because we really believe that Barnes has superstar potential. He has proven that he can defend well, shoot the ball well and most importantly take over games in the clutch. In this league you need a guy that can make the big shots for you and we believe Harrison can be that guy for us. We are thrilled with our core of Irving / Barnes / Drummond. Good dealing, Boston!

The Utah Jazz and Boston Celtics have agreed to a trade:

Boston will send: Darko Milicic - 5,256,334

Utah will send: 2013 2nd round pick.

Utah has cap space to absorb salary.

We don't have the PT to justify Darko's salary...so we send him a to a place where he can thrive next to Kanter.

Cleveland and Charlotte have a trade to announce.

Cavs out:
Spencer Hawes ($2,700,000)
Miami's 2013 1st
= $2,700,000

Cats out:
Terrence Williams ($3,143,716)
Larry Sanders ($1,991,760)
= $5,135,476

Cleveland has the space to absorb the remaining salary. We accept this deal because we add a couple of much needed defensive minded players. We have our scoring star power in Irving / Barnes / Drummond, and the addition of T-Will and Larry brings some balance to our squad. After drafting Andre Drummond, we couldn't find a role for Hawes. Nice dealin', Kees.

Jarrett Jack ($5,000,000)

Pistons out:
Shaun Livingston ($3,500,000)
Kwame Brown ($1,500,000)
= $5,000,000

Cavs do this deal to better fill out our roster. We lie Shaun a lot off the bench and Kwame is a decent rotational big.

Trade #111 Utah and Okl

Utah Trades
PF James Johnson 2.33
SG Terrance Ross .38
SG Thabo 3.35
Eric Maynor 2.33
Darko Milcovic 5.28
Khris Middleton 1.28
Terrance Jones 1.68
Lucas Nogueria 1.05
Total 17.77

Okl Trades
Pg Monta Ellis 11
OF Troy Murphy .8
C Hassan Thabeet .8
C Alic Ajinca .8
Sg Reggie Jackson .98
Total 14.38 million
14.38x1.25=17.97>17.77 deal works

Okl gets young depth defense and long term financial flexibiltiy.
Utah gets best player and C projects plus additional cap space.

This trade received several vetos saying that it was too good for Utah, but I am going to have to say that I respectfully disagree. At this point in time Maynor and Johnson are already fairly proven prospects, no where near the value of Ellis, but proven none-the-less. Middleton and Jones will both be lottery picks next year, and if they aren't they will be pretty dang close to the lottery. Terrence is exactly the type of power forward that OKC needs, this is a match made in heaven. Lucas also has an outside shot at being in the lottery. The rest are just unessential pieces. I am going to say this, however....next time one of these games starts there needs to be a bank of alternates ready to go from the start so that we aren't left with situations like these. I almost regret allowing GMs with two teams to trade with themselves, but I did it to spur activity and it achieved that goal.
