Exactly. The Falcons need to play with some emotion. I'm not really a Matt Ryan fan, so for me to give him my full support, I need to see him actually be productive throughout the entire game. He's looked terrible all season, imo. Sure the offensive line is bad, that's been the case for years, and the ownership & gm decided to ignore it, and to focus more money on the offense. I guess the defense with Edwards as well (rolls eyes). They needed to improve the o-line and constructing an overall better defense.

Thanksfully the Raiders won.

Overall, I enjoyed the games yesterday, and tonight should be exciting.

Vick is in the article, up now. Funny how everyone who criticizes Vick is a racist, shm...

I thought the Bears punt return was an amazing play, one of the most creative designs in years. I never really saw the holding but Graham's reaction after the play told me he was guilty of something. I don't think it impacted the play but holding is holding. Major props to both Knox and Hester for the great sales job, that was awesome.

Tebow should still be 3rd string. Orton wasn't great but his line stinks, his receivers other than Decker stink, and they cannot run the ball. I would go to Brady Quinn before Tebow if a QB change is warranted, which it isn't. Anyone pointing the finger at Kyle Orton is just hating on Orton, same as anyone blaming The Sanchize for why the Jets lost yesterday. They did not help win the games but they sure as hell weren't why their teams lost. I guess that goes with being a starting QB but at some point fans need to accept reality. I only saw two QBs that lost their teams a game over the weekend: Curtis Painter and Tom Brady, and Painter is a 3rd stringer and you could argue that Brady's defense was just as culpable.

I was just wondering...I enjoy reading your stuff, its much better than the huff and puff stuff those ESPN hacks put out there

heres my thing, if eagles cant protect vick, then why not just let him do his thing outside the pocket?

whatever happened to that WR denver took in the first round under mcdaniels?

That's Demaryius Thomas. He had Achilles (or knee, I can't keep it all straight) surgery last year, and then he broke a finger on like his second practice and has been out since. He had surgery on the finger and will be out another 2-3 weeks most likely. Big, talented guy but the injuries are a real problem and he's not a speed guy.

I forget what the numbers are, but someone (Mike Lombardi?) did a breakdown last year of Vick inside the pocket vs. Vick outside the hashmarks and it's like comparing Mark Price and Shaq in a free throw contest. Vick is a great runner but he's an absolutely atrocious passer on the edges, which really makes no sense. I wish I could remember the full details but Vick was something like 40% more likely to throw an INT outside and his completion percentage was well below 50%. It's ironic because that was Steve Young's biggest issue when he was younger too and then he figured it out the more he played, and Vick is usually compared to Young. Or at least he was when he was younger. The Eagles don't want him taking all those extra hits and they want him to utilize McCoy and Jackson and Maclin and Celek, and Vick cannot do that runnign around like Dan Reeves let him do in ATL.

The patriots' O-line is so incredible. The time they give Brady to stay in the pocket is amazing. I know its not the best moment to say it but the reason why Tom Brady throws so few INTs is because the guy's protection in every game is amazing. Huge props to that O-line.

I agree with you.

I wanted them to round out the team and improve it overall. Oh well, they thought they had enough on defense I guess, and that's not the case at all. Atlanta's far from being elite and they shouldn't be mention among the true contenders in the league.

I really feel bad for Tony Romo, his teammates are just awful.

The lung issue Romo has is being exaggerated I believe. Tonight was a huge with for Dallas, but they need to get healthy if they intend on playing over .500 football this season, so we'll see how things turn out. Next week against Detroit should be a good game.

I hear you man. I can only imagine the hurt the Lions and Stafford would put on the league with that same protection. With his core of receivers, which includes Megatron, it would be insane for him to have all that time to hit his targets.

One can dream, one can dream...
