I just watched the 'Buckner' episode of curb your enthusiasm on Tuesday.
While this mistake isn't nearly as bad, I bet this stink is going to be forever attached to Crawful.

Woke up this morning and saw the news on ESPN. Great night of baseball. The Red Sox collapsing like that is incredible, especially after the hype surrounding their team prior to the season.

I think I must've drained a lot of battery watching last night's game. Kept flipping back and fourth, back and fourth until Mr. Clutch barely got that one over over the left field fence. But who cares!! Papelbon blew the game, but what the heck happened to Crawford on that catch attempt?

They showed a lot of people starting to file out around the 5th or 6th. Florida has the worse fans
fixed.
Yup. Can't believe they couldn't even get 30,000 fans for yesterdays game.
Look at this other forum's Rays check in thread; 2 people! And the game thread in that forum is just Yankees fans talking to each other. http://www.prosportsdaily.com/forums/sh ... p?t=625065
Its a shame that they have a stacked hockey team that's already won the Stanley cup, a stacked basketball team and another basketball team with a superstar, a Rays club that puts up a huge fight and can contend, and a Marlins team thats won twice in the last 15 years and yet they still don't give a damn about any of them.
But what an awesome day of baseball, I don't think the actual playoffs will end up as exciting....so many storylines.
With 1 game lead over TB with BOS facing BAL and TB facing NYY I thought there was almost no chance of TB making the playoff game, much less getting the WC outright.
TB down 7 with 2 innings left
The rain delayed the game long enough to finish just before the walk-off.
Down to the final strike, a pinch hit HR ties the game for TB
Proctor becoming Roy Halladay for a few innings when he normally is a poor-man's Rauch
Papelbon blows the save & Crawford bobbles the catch and makes a weak and off-centre pitch
Longoria's walk-off.
Wow.

I'm so glad Boston choked after all that off-season hype.

unbelievable. crawford didn't want that ball to be hit anywhere near him. sinking line-drives are difficult to corral no doubt, but it really wasn't that hard of a catch to make...and crawford gets the big bucks to make that catch with ease. If he was smart he woulda just layed off and i think they would've held the runner on third. but still, yea he shoulda made that catch imo.

What a night. Red Sox Nation's entitlement just got an infusion to last another decade. Hearing the roundup of Boston radio shows on ESPN was a delight.
That's to say nothing of the Braves collapse, whom I hate almost as much. The only thing that would have made last night better would be if the Jays were in the Rays' place.

Offense drops to two-decade low - ESPN
Makes Jose's stats that much more impressive.
http://espn.go.com/mlb/story/_/id/70356 ... decade-low• Teams averaged 4.28 runs per game this season, the lowest since 1992's 4.12 and down from a Steroids Era peak of 5.14 in 2000.
• The home run average was down to 0.94 each team per game, also the lowest in 19 years and a sharp drop from 1.17 in 2000.
• The major league batting average of .255 was the lowest since 1989.
• The 3.94 ERA was a level last seen in 1992.
Makes Jose's stats that much more impressive.

i was thinking the same thing. granted in that situation i understand both the runner and the fielder being aggressive -- but watching that gif he wouldve had a very good shot at throwing him out had he laid off and played the bounce. if hed had a good throw even with the slide, bobble and stand it wouldve been close.

John Lackey will miss the entire season because of Tommy John surgery.
