Build the best 23 man roster

Post#1 » by Nolan » Thu Sep 29, 2011 10:46 pm

Try and build the best team you can under the cap.

Here's the rules:

-You can only use 5 rookie contract.
-Must have 21 skaters and 2 goalies.
-And of course you must be under the cap number of 64.3 million.

Use http://capgeek.com/ for all the salary numebrs.

And go.

You may have screwed yourself a tad, because Giroux's contract isn't a rookie deal, but year 1 in a small extension. My team below:

Forwards (14) - 37.062
Jonathan Toews - 6.300
Phil Kessel - 5.400
Ryan Kesler - 5.000
Loui Eriksson - 4.250
Claude Giroux - 3.750
Tyler Seguin - 3.550 (R)
James Neal - 2.850
Jeff Skinner - 1.400 (R)
David Steckel - 1.100
Jamie Benn - 0.822 (R)
Craig Smith - 0.715 (R)
Kyle Wellwood - 0.700
Zenon Konopka - 0.700
Frans Nielsen - 0.525

Defensemen (7) - 24.263
Nicklas Lidstrom - 6.200
Duncan Keith - 5.538
Brent Burns - 3.550
Kris Letang - 3.500
Ryan Suter - 3.500
Erik Karlsson - 1.300 (R)
Jay Garrison - 0.675

Goalies (2) - 2.850
Jimmy Howard - 2.250
Ray Emery - 0.600 (or Brian Elliott for same cap hit)

Total = 64.175

Neal - Toews - Giroux
Skinner - Kesler - Kessel
Eriksson - Benn - Seguin
Smith - Steckel - Wellwood

Lidstrom - Letang
Keith - Suter
Karlsson - Burns

Howard

Sitting: Konopka (unless we play a tough team), Nielsen, Garrison, Emery
